Do not push him, don't say anything...This will make it harder for him to quit...If he says he hasn't had any, just say your proud of him, nothing more...Its hard quiting and if someone bugs you, it makes you want to have a smoke....

Addiction is a disease.
It's not a matter of will... it's brain chemistry & it's near impossible to quite nicotine alone.
He needs to get into a program with some other people going through or have gone through the same thing.
*** What SophiesMom said is true: talking about smoking or quitting smoking & even seeing ads on tv against smoking can be a trigger to make someone feel like they need a smoke.
I'm not saying dont call him out if you catch him smoking, but if he's not doing it... dont bring it up.

Tell him that smoking 10 a day is worse than 1 a day for 10 days.
What he is doing is trying to quit. He gets far but gets the urge to do it again. When he does it again, he'll do it a LOT. Encourage him to try harder and tell him you believe in him. Don't give up on him if you want him to quit. At least as he is trying to quit. That's better than not trying at all

Yea trust me quiting cigs is hard stuff. It took me years to finaly quit. but wow u said 10, that means he has a serious addiction and should seek some help. You can find websites that might help a little but is comes down to him in the end. He will quit only if he really, really wants to. Nobody can stop him,not even you, only he can.

Basically what just happened is his body is still addicted to nicotine, and it just caught up on what its been missing. Kind of the same reason the patch doesn't work- because your body knows how much nicotine it is used to having. Be supportive because im sure it's going to be rough, many people quit 10s of times until they finally get it.

How many times are you going to forgive the dude?
Valerie Bertinelli divorced Eddie Van Halen because he got lung cancer and wouldn't quit - even then - although he promised he would, she couldn't bear the stress-what does that tell you? And they were married for YEARS.
Sounds like your man is a binger-danger sign.

Let him decide for himself (Not you) when he's ready to quit, because if he isn't ready, or isn't willing to, or is doing it just to please you, it will never stick. Addiction to nicotine is every bit as bad as addiction to heroin and you have to treat it as such. The bottom line is he will quit when he's ready and not before that, no matter how much he loves you.

Tell him that he is weak willed and that you find that troubling.
Nothing wrong with the truth. He's the one who dug his own hole by saying he was going to quit.
