Hello:
It could be something as simple as an ingrown hair that is still ingrown, it could be a simple infection but it could also be a chronic condition called Hidradenitis Suppurativa. I don't want to scare you by using a big term but if it is Hidradenitis Suppurativa then you need to understand the disease and control it as soon as possible because the longer you leave it (I mean years here) the harder it is to get it to slow down or even go away.
You can search the condition on the net and have a look at some of the pics available (very graphic and upsetting so be warned) I will try to sum it up for you:
- recurring abscesses in the inverse parts of your body ie. armpits, groin (top of legs where they join the body), butt, if you are a woman underneath your breast and can go on your breasts
- characterics of the abscesses - purple scars, they grow very quickly (hours) takes longer for them to open than it took to grown them, can grow to a fairly large size ie. size of a pea to a golfball in 12 hours
- same abscess comes to a head, drains and seals up and starts over again in the same spot. Then it becomes more than one at a time, usually close by the first one
- it is thought to be a disease of the apocrine sweat glands which is more plentiful in the areas that I mentioned above.
The disease is very difficult to control and to stop the abscesses but with early medical intervention there is hope that it will go away.
If you think that this might be you, surf the net, find out what you can and ask your doctor about it and get it looked after. Whether it is Hidradenitis Suppurativa or not you really should have somebody look at it just for piece of mind.
Good luck to you

Those bumps are boils. They are caused by a bacteria that lives on your skin. Staph.. they are naughty bacteria. The doctor lanced your boil, and then prescribed you antibotics to kill off the rest of the bacteria causing the infection. I'd say that your immune system is very low considering it can't fight off these infections. Try showering more often and keeping the armpit dry using powder or something. You can also try applying alcohol to the armpits to disinfect the skin. If you shave your armpits.. then stop shaving to lessen the irritation. To boost your immune system..add more citrus fruits or tomatoes to your diet. Your body needs some vitman C to help it!

if it is an abscess its probably because when it pops the root is left behind, lots of times if you try to pop it before its ready, it will pop inward and the infection will then be under your skin and that's bad news, best thing to do is go to the doctor and have them pop and extract it, yes its painful, but better than getting infected and the they'll have to do surgery to open up all the caverns inside which is done WITHOUT Anestassia since it wont take because its all dead inside ( puss and stuff) and if the opening is really big, you have to pack it everyday twice a day so that it heals from the inside out, and that just causes more pain.
i get these on my inner thighs, the doctor told me it could be because of bad oil glands.
but GO SEE A DOCTOR!
