Army
It has the primary responsibility for land-based military operations.
More of an occupational force than an invasion force.
the largest branch of the armed forces of the US.
It is currently bumping deployments up to 15 months with no end in sight
USMC
The United States Marine Corps serves as an amphibious force-in-readiness.
Responsible for providing power projection from the sea, utilizing the mobility of the U.S. Navy to rapidly deliver combined-arms task forces.
Alongside the U.S. Navy, the Marine Corps operates as a part of the United States Department of the Navy.
Navy
Its stated mission is "to maintain, train and equip combat-ready Naval forces capable of winning wars, deterring aggression and maintaining freedom of the seas
Responsible for conducting naval operations.
Air Force
Responsible for aerial warfare.
Previously part of the United States Army, the USAF was formed as a separate branch of the military on September 18, 1947.
According to the National Security Act of 1947 (61 Stat. 502) which created the Air Force; "in general the United States Air Force shall include aviation forces both combat and service not otherwise assigned. It shall be organized, trained, and equipped primarily for prompt and sustained offensive and defensive air operations.”
The Air Force is currently in a force reduction due to too many serviecemembers and not enough mission. They are actively pushing for "Blue to Green" a program that offers the chance to switch to the US army.
Coast Guard
Primary missions include but are not limited to: maritime law enforcement, mariner assistance, search and rescue, and national defense.
Stated mission is to protect the public, the environment, and the United States economic and security interests in any maritime region in which those interests may be at risk, including international waters and America's coasts, ports, and inland waterways.
Currently the only Armed Force not under DOD as it falls under the Department of Homeland Security.
With 39,000 men and women on active duty, 8,100 reservists, 7,000 full time civilian employees and 35,000 auxiliarists it is the smallest armed service of the United States.
The career paths in each branch are as follows:
Marines: All Marines shall be considered riflemen first and foremost.
Army: Careers don't matter, all career fields promote to E-8 in first enlistment anyway.
Navy: Nobody knows. The Navy is still trying figure out what sailors in the ABH, SMC, BNC and BSN rates do anyway.
Air Force: Every recruit will be trained in a manner that will allow them to leave the service early to go on to higher paying civilian jobs.
Hope that answers your question

ok permit me simplify this for you, in the beginning those are MOCK battles, (mock being the foremost be conscious) and the cheering is comparable to you cheering at a soccer activity whilst your group scores. as for the combating seem at it this way, say you have a sprint brother, the two certainly one of you %. at one yet another and argue continuously....yet whilst some bully comes alongside to conquer him up on the playground your the 1st to bounce in and save his butt, it somewhat is how the militia works. all of them have nicknames for an further.....all the different centers call the AF the "chair stress" and so on.......and particular the AF thinks the army is a grimy activity (often using fact it somewhat is) yet i assure in case you bypass over to iraq and seem you will see military, AF and military all combating together and getting alongside fabulously. what your people are telling you is an exageration of excellent natured ribbing....and particular using fact the different posters have suggested many situations (particularly in militia cities) there will be barroom brawls and stuff of that nature between the centers. (often using fact somebody receives inebriated starts off the ribbing complicated middle, and somebody else is an offended inebriated and makes a decision to combat back bodily) yet try to be sure those 2 adult males on a battlefield 2 weeks later combating to guard each and every others lives i will assure that.

For the normal miliarty , mainres get on navy bouts (Normally wars are over SEAS right?) navy takes them to the bad guys beach head , marines jump out and kill every on the beach and land.Mean while navy provides the air support and the "artillary".After the navy has built a stable beach head , the army goes in and kills what ever left. Then when after all the bad guys are dead and the guys up stairs in rank think it's safe enough too , the air force comes in and basiclly becomes the air support for there on out.Maires are still killing things in new areas , army follows behind , then air force.Navy controls the water and are basiclly there own AF,Marines and artillary for them selfs.
By Specil Forces , every one agrues on the fact who's SF goes in frist , my option is the Recon , SEALs , Army SF , PJ's (air force guys).
