If so, am i not just fulfilling my Dharma, i am made to be this way. If one fulfils Dharma then how would that constitute one's fate to hell? I believe in Karma. I also know the 3 major reasons as to why Hindus do not eat meat.
1) The Dharmic Law Reason
2) The Karmic Consequences Reason
3) The Spritual Reason
If Hinduism is about realizing God/Self through meditation, prayer, worship, reason, and dedicated action, should i even worry about my actions as a hindu eating meat? If that is so, shouldn't i be leading an asectic's life; Harm no life form of God. Should i worry myself about my afterlife so much so that i can't serve the Lord wholly, with no inhibitions as to if i had stepped out of line with reference to the 3 Laws.

If you people have read the Garuda Purana, then you will know that you have to pass the Vaitarani River in Hell only after passing that river do you get into the City of the King of Justice. This applies only to sinners. Those who are righteous have three gateways to get into the City.

Eating meat means you are indirectly supporting the killing of inncoent animals. The Soul is within all bodies and it is eternal. The Soul is equal in all living beings. Eating meat for sense-enjoyment puts a person under the material mode of ignorance, which blind's a person spiritually. One cannot understand what is God or who is he, when he continue to eat meat for sense enjoyment.
Please understand the word SENSE ENJOYMENT. meaning you are enjoying the meat just for the taste of your tongue means you have sinned.
Eating meat for Survival is ok. To ensure the survival of a superior being, a Human being can kill a animal and eat it. This is for survival, there is no sin involve here. So how many of them in singapore are eating meat for survival ?? practically nobody, everyone is searching for big resturant to eat the best meat in town and are enjoying the pleasure of it. This is sinful, this will result in karmic reactions which inturn will come in the form of diease, pain, accidents and it sarcely helps in helping the poor Soul of entrapped in the material body.
The Warrior Caste(Kyastria) are allowed to eat meat in certain circumstances to build up their body and show aggressiveness in battle. But only on certain circumstances.
The Sudras(Workers) many are born under the mode of ignorance and thus incline to eat meat, for them the below method is recommended by the Vedas. In Kali Yuga everyone is born as a Sudra.
The Vedas reccommends for those who want to enjoy meat can do so under strict guidance, like killing an animal(gets a human birth in its next life) offering to the Goddess Kali and than eating the remants. This is recommended for someone who can't give up meat. This will at least ensure that the person eating wont commit sinful activites which will give him a animal birth.
So be a Vegetarian. The Vedic scriptures already explain that Vegtarian diet is a must in most cases. Nowaday many mundane people are converting to vegetarianism due to health reasons, while the their scriptures support the killing of animals, which goes to show, there can only be one truth, the rest being man-made just to suit the senses of a human being.
If a person live a live like a pig, searching for food daily, where to eat what to eat yummy yummy, means his consiousness is like that of a pig and thus at death, this consciousness carries the Soul into the another womb within the millions of universe for a body suitable for this Conciousness. Perhaps a Pig is the best choice. Now being a Pig, he can eat all day.

YES. In Hinduism himsa(violence) and meat eating is a huge sin. If you dont respect or accept the basic principles of compassion, empathy towards the helpless animals, not hurting anyone, selflessness, the belief that god alone has the right to take a life because only he can give it back then there is no point in having the scriptural knowledge. You are neither on path of good karma, nor obeying dharma nor on the path of spirituality.
Your attitude sounds hypocritical and as if you just want to justify the fact through baseless argument that you are a non vegetarian.
Srimadbhagvatam too talks how terrible a sin is meat eating and about the narkaas one has to go through for such deeds.
When people know its a sin to do a particular thing but still do it there punishment is much greater than those who commit a sin in ignorance.
My advice-face the truth and try to get over ur craving for non veg food. Once you leave it for a reasonable length of time you wont even be able to tolerate the stink leave alone the thought of eating.

I've never heard such a ridiculous thing! Do you know what a Raksha is and do you know anything about Hindusim? No eating meat is fine but not Cow as the Cow is sacred to not only Hindus but Sikhs as well. Also there is no such place as Hell. It is more of a state of mind or a punishment i.e. Karma if you do bad things in your life. In other words, what goes around comes around but in your next life. Also to the person that thinks that worshipping idols is wrong in Hinduism is also incorrect. Is everyone confusing Hindusim with Islam? Hinduism has many idols / gods i.e. Ganesh, Lakshmi, Hannuman, Dhurga...Kali.

Manusmriti (Chapter 5 / Verse 30) says, “It is not sinful to eat meat of eatable animals, for Brahma has created both the eaters and the eatables.” Maharishi Yagyavalkya says in Shatpath Brahmin (3/1/2/21) that, “I eat beef because it is very soft and delicious.” Apastamb Grihsutram (1/3/10) says, “The cow should be slaughtered on the arrival of a guest, on the occasion of ‘Shraddha’ of ancestors and on the occasion of a marriage.” Rigveda (10/85/13) declares, “On the occasion of a girl’s marriage oxen and cows are slaughtered.” Rigveda (6/17/1) states that “Indra used to eat the meat of cow, calf, horse and buffalo.” Vashistha Dharmasutra (11/34) writes, “If a Brahmin refuses to eat the meat offered to him on the occasion of ‘Shraddha’ or worship, he goes to hell.” Hinduism’s greatest propagator Swami Vivekanand said thus: “You will be surprised to know that according to ancient Hindu rites and rituals, a man cannot be a good Hindu who does not eat beef”.

It is not at all confusing, Hinduism talks about Three gunas(quality), satwic, rajasik and tamasik, unfortunately meat comes under the category of rajasic and tamasic. after eating you may hyper active or sleepy in the long run end up with diseases. But the whole idea is to balance the gunas, so human beings having different gunas by birth according to their past karmas, so for eg if you born with totally satwic you can include rajasic and tamasic food for to balance the gunas. the same way other gunas also, If you are not purely a satwic person i don't recomment you meet ! & if you dont know what type of personality you r plese consult your GURU.

Hindu scriptures give permission to have non-vegetarian food. There are many hindus who are strictly vegetarian. They think it is strictly against their religion to consume non-vegetarian food. But the true fact is that the hindu scriptures permit a person to have meat. The scriptures mentions hindu sages and saints consuming non-vegetarian ffood.
It is mentioned in Manu Smruti,That is, Ch.5 verse 30
"the eater who eats the flesh of those to be eaten does nothing bad, even if he does it day after day,for god himself created some to be eaten and some to be eater"
Again next verse of Manu Smruti, that is, Ch.5 verse 11
"Eating meat is right for the sacrifice, that is traditionally known as the rules of the gods"
Further in Manu Smruti, Ch.5 Verse 39 and 40 says
"God himself created sacrificial animals for sacrifice,...,therefore killing in a sacrifice is not a killing"
Though hindu Scriptures permit its followers to have non-vegetarian foood, many hindus addopted the vegetarian system because they were influenced by other religions like jainism.

Meat is not prohibited in Hindu culture. If you need strength as a warrior then you can eat meat but if you need to study or perform saadhna then meat is not advocated but there is no hard and fast rule. Many aghoris have reached enlightenment even while drinking liquor and eating dead human meat, it is saadhna in fact, and this also is part of Hindu culture.

Eatin gmeat is not a sin. killing lie is a sin. Those who commit sins do not go to any place called hell. he experiences a life of hell here itself .If there is rebirth where is the question of one being sent to hell?how can one sent to hell e reborn? the soul of all beings including he sinner is god himself and without god nothing exists .How can the soul , being the god go to hell? How canthe god e punished for the sin committed by the man?
so theHindu philosophy has nt beeenproperly understood .No soul could ever go to hell or heaven. There is nothig like heaen or hell. the ery concepot of heaven and hell arose in theminds of people of all cultue since hey thought the Gods lived in he sky above our head .this hey wer lead to believe because we get the rains fromthe sky and the qya=uantumof the water we get through the rains is so enormous tht lakes and iers flood and hey inundate cities and villages .people couldnt belive that such a quantity of water can remain without some vessels or containers or lakes situated in th sky.the here the rublinngs in thsky and the lightning alsofrom the sky and the lightening strikes people daed and burns trees and houses .such thigs we esupernatual and onlyh the gods could have caused them to punish people for something or other. so the people firmly eliveds that the god lived in he sky in he heavenand that the demons and sinners lived underground in hell.
this sort of an idea has beenprevalent inalmost allcultures .In fact the early greek een thought that the rains were cased by he god pissing through the sieves . so people imagined so many weired things about the existence of he god in the sky and thought that they visited he eath ocassionally.
But really thre is no heaen of hell aboe in the sky.and th epeople of the modern world have understood that the sky is found on sides of he earth and tht it is vacuum .
mythologicalstories of differnet times would e reflecti gth ethoughts of people of the time ; but would convey soe morals through the stories that were imaginery. But there were also accounts of hsitorical figures who wer considerd to be avataars of god were who visited the earth due to various reasons .those we eaccounts of noble men and souls who wee leaders of hesociety who set themselves as examples for others to follow . One such account is that of Krishna .who lived durin the thuvapara yuga , more than some 6000 years ago.. Krisna is accaimled as an avataar of ?vishnu and his counsel to Arjuna in he battle field gies a clearabstract of the hindu philosophy. If one wer eto read it carefully , he would e convinced that thr eis no heaven or hell located elsewhre and that theyae in the minds of the individuals. one will find that god is omnipresent and so presenmt in everything and god does creation ,sustenance and annihilation also .if god is presetnin eeruything , all that yu eat is god too and that which eats is also the god ..
this krsihna says clerly that what kills himself and what is killed is also himself .
In this world no eoig is absolute except god ,everything is made from something else and nothing is porduced out of nothing . So anythig eatin anything else i snot a sin; but using pain and hurtingsomehitng else without reasonalaone woiuld e a sin .a sin being a bad karma will hav an adverse effect on the doer .eveyh karma will ha its effet - a reaction, just like an action.every action will hae an equal and opposite reaction. It is scientifiucally true .so also eery Karma ( action) will have its effect also (reaction ).The individual who perfoms the action would suffer its effect . This may be heallish o heaenly depending on the quality of the action.
