I'm about 5'11 and hovering around the 300 pound mark. I want to help myself feel and look better, so I probably need to loose at least 125 pounds. I've already figured on eating less food, and less fast food, but what R good fat burning foods and exercises? My goal is to try to be down around 200 in a year or so, is that resonable?
Thanx for your help!

Sorry in advance! This will be long cuz I ramble but worth it!

Okay... I am embarrassed to say this, but I know this will help you. And I'll be happy when my experience and research does help you. I'm a girl and I'm 5'5'' and in the summer of '04 I weighed 268 and by EARLY '06 I weighed 170ish! Now I weigh in the 140s! Okay I'll tell you EVERYTHING I did... and maybe you can alter it for yourself... cuz I dunno if you wanna do exactly what I did. First of all... yes eat less... but more times... and smaller portions. I pretty much ate something every 1-2 hours, but nothing a 5 hours before heading to sleep. Here's what I did...

In the morning even though I wasn't hungry right after waking up... I'd drink 1 slim fast shake (for the shake sometimes before going to sleep I would pour the shake into a plastic cup... stick in the freezer and take it out in the morning let it sit for a few minutes and eat it!) I dunno I liked doing that sometimes... more filling that way too! Oh and I'd eat 1 of their bars... you could mess around with their meals for breakfast but that's what I did.

I'd take the bus to school, and at school after a class or around break time I'd have a bag of mixed nuts and munch on that. Any kind is fine as long is they're not salty peanuts. I got some trek mix that had walnuts... almonds... some other nuts... dark chocolate and coconut. DARK chocolate (organic kind) not name brands ones... is good for you... lots of antioxidants!

Oh yeah by the way in this diet I didn't touch ANY kind of soda! What I drank was tons and tons of water to the point where I sometimes felt full. Try drinking like over a gallon of water throughout the day and if you want regular stuff to drink to, stick to organic juices... look for some organic stores in your area... like here we have whole foods and trader joe! Try juices like pommegrante, grape, cranberry, grapefruit and orange juice. Those are the only ones I had. Oh yeah and organic milk (no hormones!)

For lunch if I was really hungry i'd have a footlong sub from subway... no matter what you get... don't get anything with bacon... cheese... salt... or mayo. I usually just got the turkey one, just the sandwhich no combo.

If I wasn't that hungry... I'd go home and make myself either on of these: a regular salad... different types of lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes, mushrooms... etc etc but no dressing... instead i'd put some lemon or apple cider vinegar. Apple cider vinegar is REALLY good for you... you can get that in tablets if you hate the taste. Okay and other things I made when I wasn't hungry were fruits salads...

Or if I wasn't hungry and super lazy... I'd heat up a slim fast/healthy choice meals...

Try eating as many fruits and vegies as possible! And if you're gonna eat meat... get chicked instead (not fried) or better yet fish... like salmon or even better WILD salmon! Basically nothing with 4 legs... (poultry or fish)

Okay pretty much covered what I ate throughout the day... heres what I stayed away from:

soda (this was so hard for me at first and now i hate the taste!)
chips (too many hydrogenated oils... msg and salt!)
burgers
pastas
pizza
desserts

oh yeah and ingredients wise... don't eat anything that says MSG (monosodiumglutemate) (sugar or aspartame) or however you spell it. Stay away from salty foods... SALT makes you retain fat... I know food tastes bland without it... but you'll get used to it after the first or second month. For taste... I use black pepper... cayenne pepper (super good for you)... lemons... vinegar... mustard... etc etc and if you NEED salt... get SEA salt... make sure it says that!

If you accidentally cheat which I did, don't feel guilty or discouraged... just make sure don't do too often!

EXERCISE wise...

I kid you not... just walk for OVER an hour does it... but if you walk for even longer better! Because I walked around with a 20 pound backpack! (exaggerating a bit) but it was heavy!

Walk for as long as you can... speed walking is better... pretend you're in a hurry somewhere... my heart was racing... felt like it would pop out... breathing heavly... I'd get hot, pink and sweaty... my legs and side would hurt... all good signs!!! ^_^

Seriously that's all I really did in term of exercise for the first months... then when I saw how much weight I lost... I got pumped up and motivated and did other stuff... like later i got into winsor pilates... and OMG only 30 minutes a day every other day or sometimes I'd only do it twice a week and it worked!!! At first I couldn't do many of their exercises... but after ONE month of doing... I was A LOT better... and it kept getting easier until it was a breeze! Pilates REALLY helped shape my body... the walking helped me lose weight... but pilates really shaped me.

Other things I did when I just wanted to push myself was running for as long as I could at NIGHT cuz I didn't want people watching me! lol Oh yeah and dancing for hours till I broke a sweat in my room!!! Oh yeah getting DDR helps too!

Oh and the one thing I wish I had done... but couldn't... maybe if you're stronger than me you can. Go to this site and do any or all of the cleanses...

http://curezone.com/diet/ <<<<<<===========

Maybe you could do it before you start your diet... and after a few months of doing your diet... it doesn't matter when actually... but that's what I would've liked to have done.

Why didn't I go through with it... well to be totally honest... those cleanses... make you feel HORRIBLY TERRIBLY sick the first few days... cuz it's cleaning out all the crap/toxic/junk/fat in your body... so in order to feel better you first feel completely and utterly sick when all that crap is being scraped out of you. Trust me the FIRST say you do that crazy cleanse you'll feel it! It made me glue myself to the toilet! I had horrible headaches... felt feverish... ugh... it was working... but I'm such a wuss for pain.

Oh yeah and if you want a quick and easy cleanse... on top of everything I said... do the 48 hour hollywood miracle diet once a month... or once every three months...

Oh yeah spend SOME time in the sun everyday... it helps prevent depression... just don't get discouraged.... remind yourself of your goal and what it'll be like once you get there!

ANYONE who wants more information please email me at prinzessxtc@yahoo.com or leave a comment here if you want my attention!

I hope this was helpful!!! Best wishes! Good luck!

You need to view food as nourishment and not pleasure.
DO you prepare your own foods.
Why not get lean cuisine from the super markets and try that if its available in your country,
IT is prepackaged calorie controlled frozen meals.
If they dont have lean cuisine there then perhaps you should try and find out if pre packaged diet meals are available.
You just put them in the microwave and heat them up.
May I suggest walking everywhere you go. Its doesn't cost as much as the gym and you can make a personal game out of it.
Get a pedometer and push yourself to walk further each day.
I am not sure if you are a male or female but the measures I mentioned if followed will help you loose weight.
Pre packaged food is fabulous because you dont get the eating stimulation from the prep aeration of the food.
GOOD LUCK WITH IT

1. It's as simple as this, if you burn off more that you eat then you will lose weight so you need to either eat less or do more but the best way is to do both. 2. You need to do a combination of cardio - running, walking, swimming, cycling etc and strength training like crunches and weights. 3. To lose weight and keep it off you need to eat healthily and exercise for the rest of your life which is why it is a good idea to find a diet and exercise routine that is sensible, you enjoy and don't try and lose it too quickly.

Really, there's no magical trick to loosing weight. Eat healthy and exercise. Eat healthy means cut down on meat and fatty products, and eat lots of fruits and vegetables. Exercise means get your heart beating rapidly for 30 minutes 5 days a week. There's no such thing as a "fat-burning food".

I once weighed 300 lbs and I am 5'3". The best answer to losing weight is to eat more less caloric items and exercise.

I am not an advocate for exercise, I even hate it and I have not lost all my weight. But after losing more than 100 lbs, I think I have found the right way to do it.

Here is the information I use!

find daily calorie intake calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours - it optimizes your metabolism)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have protein (lean meat, legumes etc) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min (ideally 45min because the first 20-30min body burns carbs and only then starts burning fat), light weight training (more muscle=faster metabolism)
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, pasta etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

dont eat less. eat healthy! dark green vegetables. mainly the colored ones. DONT EAT ANYTHING THATS WHITE [well not EXACTLY] but like... white bread, white rice, white sugar also!

brown rice and brown sugar are much healthier. wheat bread is awesome for your body.

get a personal trainer and work out about...3-4 times a weak for about 1-2 hours.

keep that up for about half a year and you'll DEFINITELY get good results. my teacher lost 59 lb in 6 months and looks miraculous now.

dont forget to eat healthy! DONT GIVE UP and work your butt off, literally.
