they not only have a drink or smoke now and then, some die of alcoholism or lung cancer from all the smoking.

they probably deny to themselves that these are drugs--but then so do other drinking/smoking fiends who can't get over their problem/addiction

Well, you can't generalize. Some Christians feel these aren't drugs, while others believe drinking and smoking are wrong. Not ALL Christians believe the same things, it all depends on how each individual person interprets the Bible (I would hope that Christians read the Book). So it might be more prudent to ask a more specific question, such as what are the official teachings of the Catholic Church, or the Baptist Church, etc., something like that.

But to answer your question, obviously there are Christians that drink and smoke, and obviously there are others that think these are drugs and you shouldn't partake in them.

k well it just depends on what u mean by "christians" cuz morons believe that achole and cigerette and drug intake are a sin but as 4 other denominations it varies so next time be more specific but as 4 catholics which i am we don't consider them drugs but as a sin cuz u r destroying ur body which is a temple of the holy spirit but a drink or a cigerette every now and then is not a sin as long as u control ur intake and how often u have it

They are drugs. I haven't smoked in years because of both the health and religious implications. I have learned MODERATION in the drinking, for it is a SIN to be drunk, but the Bible speaks of moderation in that "a little wine is good for the infirmities of the stomach" or something like that....I know the Scripture is 1 Timothy 5:23 but can't quote it exactly right. It talks about drinking a little wine to help with our infirmities and such. Too much however, leads to drunkenness, illicit behavior and possibly death when coupled with foolish actions.

Yes they do drink and smoke. But the bible says that our bodies are temples of God. Repent your sins. That means change your way of life, to be more like the way Jesus wants us to be. So, if you are a real Christian. You will pray and work on these issues to change your life for the better.

I drink and smoke. I don't consider them drugs and no I don't pray for forgiveness for it either. I know some Christian groups believe it is a sin. But you know Jesus made wine at the wedding. He came to deliver us from our sins not to lead us into temptation.

I can not believe that chick answered for "all" Christians! I have seen...with my own eyes...Christians smoking and drinking...right outside their church! I do not claim to be atheist or christian, I am agnostic- because I do not know or care if god exists. Honestly, I lean more towards he does not. Not only because atheists have more of the answers I am seeking, but because of people like her who claim they know the "truth" and feed us lies!

Yes. My cousin who is an adult along with her husband both drink. They don't drink a lot though. They are kind of just social drinkers. They only sip. They entertain people who drink. Their church is interesting...
