Many Christians believe that being gay is wrong. There's no doubt about that.. but, shouldn't they be focusing their anger towards sins that really hurt others. Take for example, murder, lying, unfaithfulness .. etc.. where as being homosexual is just a variation to typical relationships, just like heterosexuals, their are gays that stay faithful and gays that are promiscuous. Whats your opinion on this? I just feel that gays are viewed so negatively where as other 'sins' in my opinion are much worse.

People tend to be more concerned about things that affect them directly. Most people don't have to deal with murder of a loved one, for example.

Unfaithfulness is a rather personal thing (though what isn't?) and isn't usually dealt with by anyone but the involved members. They do speak out against it, though. Lying is considered to be wrong by nature, but there is this idea out there that everyone lies and it's just natural. Furthermore, neither unfaithfulness nor dishonesty has groups backing the position like homosexuality does. This leaves little to fight, especially since our culture still looks down upon betrayal. At least it says so.

The answer is no - most people have their priorities all mixed up, but there are reasons for it, albeit unjustified.

I think homosexuality is a sin, but not necessarily the worst of sins. I've known gay people who I would trust further and like more than many straight people I know.

It is also a forgiveable sin. I am far more concerned about people who hate than I am about gay people. Hate does more damage than homosexuality does, and many gay people are miserable because of the inner conflicts they suffer and the way they are treated by others.

If we have truly read and understood the words of Jesus, we know he never addressed the subject of homosexuality, but he did address the subjects of intolerance, hatred, and vindictiveness.

We don't know how he would have treated a gay person, but we do know how he treated a woman taken in adultery who was about to be stoned for her sins.

I think he leads us by that example.

I feel as a Christian woman it is my duty to uphold the teachings of Christ which was to offer love, understanding & compasion to those around us. When Jesus came upon the woman being stoned because of her adultery in John 8:3-11 he asked that the man that be without sin cast the first stone. He did not come at her with judgment or accusation.

I feel that true Christians should apply this to their own lives. I don't stand in judgement of anyone for their choices in life.. I choose rather to express that I care for them and love them like any other child of God. My cousin is Gay and I love her with out hesitation and I am a Christian.

I am sorry you have had expiernces with people who claim to be Christian yet they clearly do not follow the teachings of Christ if they can stand in judgment of you or others. If more people were living a life that pleased God by having a true love for our fellow humans the world would be a much better place!!

If a Christian is feeling anger towards any sin I think they need to examine where their priorities are in general.

You know it's not our job to get indignant at any sin, the holy spirit convicts sinners, we can merely tell them that, yes, homosexuality, lying, murder, hatred, unfaithfulness, etc. are sins and only God can tell somebody's heart that it is the truth.

Our job is not to get angry at people, but to love them and explain to them that no matter how vile their sin is, no matter how bad they may have been, it is forgiven because of what Jesus has done on the cross.

God loves us an has reconciled himself to us no matter what sins we have committed, no matter how filthy our hearts. God looks past that and loves us anyway :)

God bless!

I don't have a hate on for anyone who is involved in any sinful behaviour. If you truly love someone you will be unhappy with anything that destroys there life. I feel no superiority as I have enough to contend with trying to keep my own slate clean. I would be however guilty of dishonesty if I suggested that I thought that the homosexual lifestyle was healthy.

I personally don't believe being gay is a choice. therefore I don't see how it could be a question of right or wrong. Flagrant acting on it is wrong. But I will say that ALL people should refrain from unnatural sex as much as possible. Upon repentance all sin is forgiven, but this is not Carte Blanche. God will understand that you are trying.

No. All sins are just as bad as all the others. The bible says so. Lying is just as bad as killing. THe only difference is that people view them different because we are judgemental. We shouldn't care though....God's judgement is the only one that matters and to God a sin is a sin.

Well, as a Catholic I can say that we're not against homosexuals themselves, but homosexual acts. It's the sexual acts that go against the nature of the organs that God created for that purpose.

i agree with you .... many will always focus on what they cannot understand ... and if it wasnt " the gays" it would be the ppl with red hair or ???? ppl seem to have a bizarre need to condemn others to feel better about themselves
