Okay so i have a wonderful little Chihuahua named Roxy. She is such a sweetheart. She never bites and hardly ever barks. She is very calm. She hangs out with my uncles dog who is a Pit Bull and my grandpas dog who is a German Shepeard. She is not scared of them even though they are much bigger than her. They have tons of fun together. She has graduated from Obedienced School at pets mart and has been very socialized with other dogs. Well, my aunt and uncle just got a puppy and he is much smaller than the dogs she usually hangs out with but for some odd reason, she is scared to death of him! He did not do anything to hurt her, he was just smelling her and she freaked out and bit his nose!!!! Why is she so scared of him??? and how can I make it stop. Since I take her everywhere with me, they will have to see alot of each other! PLEASE HEP!!!!

It can be for many reasons why she reacted the way she did. First, if the Pit Bull and German Shepard are adult dogs, they are much calmer and tolerant of small dogs and therefore it was an easier transition to acquaint herself with them. Puppies tend to be "foot loose and fancy free" and assertive. Meaning they want to smell, taste, hear everything so they are going to be excited when seeing something new like another dog. Your dog probably was surprised by this over active curiosity and her "fight or flight" instinct kicked in and that is why she bit the puppies nose.

The first step is if you are visiting the home of the puppy, or the puppy is visiting your home, have them meet outside the home. Dogs can become "territorial" and if they feel like they space is being compromised they will react aggressively.

I would work on them becoming socialzed together by having them each on a leash and just being in the same room where they can see each other but not touch each other. Let them get comfortable with that first. Then on the next visit you can let them get close enough where they can be next to each other but not reach each other. I would sit on the ground with them; each controlled by a separate person. Have a conversation with the person and ignore the dogs but make sure they can't reach each other. Wait for them to become bored with each other and remain calm while in each others presence. The next thing I would do is put them in different rooms with either a closed door or a baby gate between them and let them smell each other while separated by the barrier. This allows them to not be restrained but still have protection from potential aggressive behavior.

In time they will learn to accept each other and become the best of friends or totally ignore each other but at least there won't be any aggressive behavior between them.

Good Luck!

Sadly, there's no such factor as a "teacup chihuahua." Chihuahuas do are available in all types or sizes and hues,sure.. however they're of the TOY loved ones. A teacup chihuahua is with no trouble the offspring of a small chihuahua.. main the breeder to consider that those chihuahuas can be small. However, because of genes handed for the duration of chihuahuas, 2 very small chihuahuas might produce bigger offspring. A "teacup chihuahua" is particularly just a constant chihuahua that breeders have given a ritzy identify to, anticipating individuals to pay extra for a dog to be able to be smaller than the common. Even then, your dog might come to be as much as 6 or eight kilos. Anyone who's promoting you those dogs as "teacup chihuahuas" is already proving their lack of know-how by means of labeling a puppy with a fictional breed. Showing their lack of know-how, the breeder has additionally poorly bred those chihuahuas.. main to many wellness issues, and potentially unhealthy developments, comparable to yappy or instead imply puppies. As you are going to have the equal threat of getting a small puppy both approach, i could endorse you assess into the chihuahuas costing $one hundred fifty. These individuals definitely have extra feel.. and appear a lot more liable.

This is what i think. A bigger dog is the boss and she is going a long with them. A smaller dog , she is telling them, she's the boss. My 2 little dog's are the same way. Bigger is ok but they aren't having another little one around. She will get use to the dog in due time. Give them a chance. Good Luck

Hanging out with the large dogs, she probably thinks she is big too. For some reason she is afraid of smaller dogs, she is most likely just not used to animals that size. I'm not an expert but I think she will get over it in time.
