Most of us claim to be staunch and steadfast or well grounded in our beliefs and values but when this claim is tested or pushed, those that are not as steadfast as they think are easily persuaded to go against their supposed values and are "pushed over" to the other side. They are typically people who "straddle the fence" which means they are too afraid to take a side!

This person doesn't stand up for himself/herself or what he/she believes. You can basically coerce them to say anything or do anything, even if they are not comfortable with it, or in more extreme cases, they know it's morally or ethically wrong or illegal.
