The physical manifestation of God (as this is no doubt what you are referring to) is the entirety of the universe. God is all things and all things are a part of God.
I'm sorry if you don't feel this answers your question adequately, but I've always felt trying to describe a spiritual being that is beyond our limited mortal minds to comprehend is virtually impossible (however not completely impossible, as all things are possible).

Personally I believe that there are an infinite number of different forces that are within and without everything in the universe. These forces are my "Gods" as it were. However I do agree that "God" cannot be fully understood by us mere humans. What I have stated is the best description that I, in my limited capacity, have been able to come up with. But even this falls short of truly defining the divine. The best word to describe "God" would probably be enigma. We really can't know "God" and it is arrogant of us to think that we can.

It's not what God is! It's WHO God is. Besides being the Supreme Personal Intelligence and Righteous Ruler, Creator and Sustainer of all things - He Is Spirit.
And Yes and you are right! Who God is, Transcends far above all human understanding and defining. The words in Ole Webster, cant even scratch the surface, in defining God! He can only be known by Revelation. And He has indeed revealed Himself to Us.
Here's a couple songs I would like to share. Its called The Final Perfect Word. By Michael Card -

God is the creator of the universe. You can probably read the Bible or look God up in the dictionary. He is not a what, he is a who.

When you look at your watch, you know that an intelligient person designed it. It didn't just come into existence by itself. What about your wrist - isn't it more complicated than your watch? Didn't an intelligient person design your wrist too? We call the One who designed these things God, our Creator, the One who spoke the word and created the universe.

THERE IS NO GODDESS BUT GODDESS AND OUR GODDESS IS ALL GODDESSES!
"Did you know that God's name is ERIS, and that He is a girl?" Well, He Is a girl, and His name is ERIS! Why does Pickering's Moon go about in reverse orbit? There are nipples on mens chests; do they give milk? And what, pray tell, is to be done about Heisenberg's Law? SOMEBODY HAD TO PUT ALL OF THIS CONFUSION HERE!" But you must have Faith! All is lost without Faith! I sure feel sorry for you if you don't have Faith. Do you know what happens to those who deny Goddess? Sophisticated people like yourself recognize that Eris is a Figurative Symbol for an Ineffable Metaphysical Reality and that The Erisian Movement is really more like a poem than like a science

God is a concept used to describe that which is not understood and ethics that a society finds it needs to enforce in order to maintain its governmental structure and the status quo. It is also used to incite a populace to go to war to maintain the status quo or to conquer another populace in order to obtain more natural resources.

God is the current common term used for the creative energy in the Universe. It represents that which makes this existence go - what makes the grass grow and makes us all walk and talk.
You are correct - there is no way to know the Unknowable - but surely it is easy to see that it is a most intriguing subject and that forming opinions that we can live with about God can help us in our day to day lives.
Peace!

Anyone who would try to answer this question would be wrong. If we understood what God was, we would be gods. We can suggest our opinions, but that is all they are...opinions, not fact. This is how religions and wars get started...because opinions are like a**holes, blah, blah, blah.
Stick with your belief; be willing to listen to and be changed by others and their beliefs
