Here are some sites that I know of:

http://www.performancebike.com/
http://www.rei.com/cycling
http://www.downcycles.com/

I've shopped at Performance Bike, but I am not sure specifically what bike or part you are looking for.

Do you know exactly what you want but want the best price? You might also try searching for that product in Yahoo or Google or even better a shopping search engine like Become.com or Shopping.com. These are sites that return what stores sell your product and prices so you can compare.

Do you know what store you want to shop at? You can also save money by looking for online coupons. Just go to Yahoo or Google and search for the store name and then the word coupons. You'll find savings that include % off and free shipping.

Finally, if you do a lot of shopping online you might also try joining a shopping rewards program like Upromise or memolink. These are sites that give cash back or gift cards for shopping online.

Dont know where you live but if your from the UK I would suggest chainreactioncycles which offer free postage within Britain or Wades cycles. Both these sites sell serious gear from company's such as Race Face, Azonic, DMR ext. Damn I wish I could afford to build A new bike as well. Good luck.

Speedgoat.com has a great diversity on parts. I've bought two bikes from them and some gear now and then.
