WHILE Jesus is often called the Son of God in the Bible, nobody in the first century ever thought of him as being God the Son. Even the demons, who "believe there is one God," knew from their experience in the spirit realm that Jesus was not God. So, correctly, they addressed Jesus as the separate "Son of God." (James 2:19; Matthew 8:29) And when Jesus died, the pagan Roman soldiers standing by knew enough to say that what they had heard from his followers must be right, not that Jesus was God, but that "certainly this was God's Son."—Matthew 27:54.

Hence, the phrase "Son of God" refers to Jesus as a separate created being, not as part of a Trinity. As the Son of God, he could not be God himself, for John 1:18 says: "No one has ever seen God."—RS, Catholic edition.

The disciples viewed Jesus as the "one mediator between God and men," not as God himself. (1 Timothy 2:5) Since by definition a mediator is someone separate from those who need mediation, it would be a contradiction for Jesus to be one entity with either of the parties he is trying to reconcile. That would be a pretending to be something he is not.

The Bible is clear and consistent about the relationship of God to Jesus. Jehovah God alone is Almighty. He created the prehuman Jesus directly. Thus, Jesus had a beginning and could never be coequal with God in power or eternity.

Very simple,
Any person who born can die also, so can not be God.
Any person who said:
“I can do nothing on my own authority” (John 5: 30).

There is no single scriptural text in which Jesus claimed explicitly to be divine. Nor is there any implicit text, which can be interpreted exclusively to mean a claim of divinity.

On the contrary, there are numerous clear and direct texts in which Jesus denies equality with God or possessing any of God’s divine attributes (see for example John 8: 28-29, 14: 10, 24. 28. 31. Mk. 13: 32, 10: 18). In a serious matter like belief in God, an implicit evidence or an allegorical statement is far from adequate. Nor is it reasonable to claim that Jesus kept that serious matter as a guarded secret and hence caused confusion to multitudes for centuries.

Miracles

No miracle attributed to Jesus signifies that he was God-Incarnate. There is no major miracle attributed to Jesus, which does not have some parallel in the Bible. Including resurrection (see for example Heb, 7: 3, I kings 17: 22, 20: 35-36, II Kings 4: 7, 34, 44, 6: 17, 20, 13: 22, Ezk 37: 1-14). How revealing is Jesus’ statement, “I can do nothing on my own authority” (John 5: 30).

The Bible clearly teaches that Jesus is not God. In the Bible God is always someone else other than Jesus.

Some will say that something Jesus said or something he did while on the earth proves that he is God. We will show that the disciples never came to the conclusion that Jesus is God. And those are people who lived and walked with Jesus and thus knew first hand what he said and did. Furthermore, we are told in the Acts of the Apostles in the Bible that the disciples were being guided by the Holy Spirit. If Jesus is God, surely they should know it. But they did not. They kept worshipping the one true God who was worshipped by Abraham, Moses, and Jesus (see Acts 3:13).

All of the writers of the Bible believed that God was not Jesus. The idea that Jesus is God did not become part of Christian belief until after the Bible was written, and took many centuries to become part of the faith of Christians.

Matthew, Mark, and Luke, authors of the first three Gospels, believed that Jesus was not God (see Mark 10:18 and Matthew 19:17). They believed that he was the son of God in the sense of a righteous person. Many others too, are similarly called sons of God (see Matthew 23:1-9).

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pauline_Christianity

On the road to Damascus, while persecuting the early Christians, after the death of Jesus, a man claimed that he saw a vision, a vision of Jesus. The man was Saul of Tarsus (Latinized as Paul). From there on, the teachings of Christ were transformed and Romanized and modern Christianity was born.

The vision in which Paul claims that Jesus gave him an authority to teach in his name is recorded a number of times in the New Testament. If we were to analyze these variant descriptions, made by the same man, as in a court of law, they would be thrown out as fabricated "evidence" because of inconsistencies.

As to the testimony of Paul, we find that the Book of Acts indicates that Paul was accused of not telling the truth about the teachings of Jesus, an accusation which he did not deny but tried to justify (see Romans 3:7-8).

They are the same, Jesus is God in physical form and spiritual. Jesus(God the Son) and God the Father, and the Holy Spirit/Ghost(also God) existed from the begining. They are all three the same, they make up the Trinity. To say that Jesus did not exist before he was born on earth is considered heresy by the Catholic Church. Hope that helps

In Christianity, some believe he is a part of God (divine) that just kind of split off for a visit down here in human form. Some believe that God made a human baby with a human woman. Some believe he is just a regular old human meant to tell us new things God wanted us to know.

Well the basic contraversy is between the muslims and the christians. Chritians belive him to be God or son of GOd. While muslims claim that he was prophet like all other warners.

I am muslim so i will try to explain our point of view. You see, the issue arises from the concept of orignal sin. Christians belive that since adam ate the forbidden fruit, the whole mankind will now be born in sins, hence to remove the sins of mankind, God sacrificed his only beggoten son to remove all sins of mankind.

This is not even common sense according to us muslims. For example, if you hire a servent, and he does something very wrong, and the next day you tell him that instead of punishing you, I will sacrifice my son and then your sin will be paid for. Sounds stupid right. But then you attribute the same thing to God who is obvisouly more just and wise than us. God is almighty, and he does not need to sacrifice anything for that matter to forgive us. All God does is send messangers to earth to warn us humans in every age. God says in the Quran that in every age did He send a warner and a guide. Jesus was also a warner. Plus, why should I or you be held responsible if adam ate the forbiden fruit. Did adam ask me or you before eating it???.

It was paul who corrupted the teachings of Jesus by elavating his status from messanger to GOd or son of GOd so that now he could say that since jesus the son of god or god has died for our sins, hence we are scott free to do whatever we want.

Even for someone with common sense this would be easy to point out. May God Give you eyes to see the true path. GOd is might, HE is ONE and ONLY, no sons, no daughters, no reletives. He is nothing like us. He is unique.

FOr more details read the quran in the language you understand the best to understand the muslims view point on Jesus who we respect very highly.

It says in the book of John that Jesus and God are one...that was one reason people wanted to kill Him because He claimed to be God. It really depends on how you interpret it. I really can't begin to type it out but yes I believe they are one.

Jesus is God.
God is the trinity: God Father, God Son, and God Holy Spirit.
So Jesus is son of the Father but is still God because God is all three people.

Jesus was a man who had a 'new' way of thinking, a new philosophy. He came to teach people of his time who God was and how every single person was equal, rich or poor, man or woman, and also how to live one's life in a right way. Jesus was a man. A pretty special and charismatic one, but certainly not God. I'm catholic.

At Christmastime, carols in the supermarket herald Jesus as the "newborn King". The rest of the year, however, His name becomes a common swear word. Who is this man everyone can't stop talking about? Jesus was born approximately 5 B.C. in the town of Bethlehem, Israel, to a virgin named Mary, who was descended from King David.
