with no dogma to bind you, you begin to lighten. To be enlightened to me is clarity. To act on your own. In the world, humanity is hardly trusted with this simple thing.

And then you grow more meaningless.

Enlightenment is a state of mind. When in that state I can't imagine anything more open and conscious...we are not supposed to stop being sentient beings...as in 'self' aware. Some of us seem to allow that point to elude us.

The secretive appearance of it is not so much a secret as the unfortunate nature of the beast. Telling and hearing are not experiencing which is the actual way to knowing hence the term the way. So arrive the riddles and elusive clues towards personal conclusions and experiences leading to experiential knowledge rather than reiteration...as apposed to the flexibility and depth of experiential knowledge in this arena.

No dogma ...we have karma.
Peace!

Enlightenment is secretly not a secret...

Within the open air you'll find dogma if you're looking for enlightenment, but you'll find enlightenment when you've let go of looking.

Dogma is bound to the Mind...
while enlightenment is boundless...

Not necessary to belong to any special " club " or discover a secret code word or hand shake . . . Enlightenment is actually out in the open for all...no dogma necessary. Yet...that is truly already known . . .yes ? Peace to you.

In the past people have become enlightened even within the boundaries of dogmas. But once they achieve this feeling of unity, all dogma falls away. The person may stay within his/her tradition and yet, be free of it. In such way, Buddha, Christ and Muhammed could have tea together and have no conflict whatsoever.

Exactly, there is no dogma to the enlightened soul. But for us to know him, we ourselves have to be enlightened first. All the waves in the ocean have to find the depth of the ocean by themselves.

It is 'secret' in the sense that not everyone achieves it, but it is open to all without dogma....not everyone seeks enlightenment.
In my opinion, dogma makes enlightment more difficult.

IMO enlightenment comes about because of openness, an openness of heart and of mind. As long as we close our mind to new concepts because we are locked into beliefs or close our hearts to others because of conflicting beliefs, the light isn't able to penetrate or shine forth as it should. We've constructed barriers.

Meditation, prayer, contemplation and pondering life and its purpose are means to moving past our patterns and expanding our views (as light shines upon them) along with acceptance of others and a gradual growth of wisdom that accompanies the expansion.

The light of the enlightened should shine forth and be a beacon of light in the darkness for others to reach for and find the way.

Interesting choice of words: enlightenment verses dogma. However, if you examine the Age of Enlightenment, you will find dogma there.
