i was hanging out with a friend and i'm confused if he likes me or not, we went to grab something to eat quickly and i was going to sit in front of him but he insisted that i sat next to him, does that mean anything?

In the studies we had in coginitive psychology, this *generally* means that he wants to be compatible with you; face-to-face is more confrontive. This hints at a good, conciliatory approach to life, rather than seeing life as a competition.
This is all *very* general, and the results may well differ from person to person. It *could* mean that he doesn't want to look you in the eye. More often, it means that he wants to snuggle up to you in a non-threatening way, rather than kick your shins or jump over the table and pin you to the booth with his lips and hands.

It could be that he just didnt want you watching him eat. I know a few guys like that. Dont read too much into it, unless there are more significant signs.

It sounds like he just wanted to be closer to ya. ...Only other reason was that he had a secret to tell ya that he didn't want anyone else to hear.... If he didn't tell ya a secret, then I would assume he likes ya. Maybe ask him why and see what his answer is.

If he asked you to sit next to him, that shows he wants to be closer to you... He wants to be able to talk to you. Pretty strong sign that he likes you.

What's to be confused about? he OBVIOUSLY wants to be near you. I can't believe someone has to tell you this. Actually if you can't figure that out on your own your too young to be thinking about boys. Stick to your studies.
