Yes, I do not mind saying I have a good impression of Catholic priests. In spite of the clergy sex scandal, I am not disingenuous enough to paint entire groups of people with the same broad brush. I take people, including priests, one at a time, and I have never been disappointed by any clergyman I have ever met.

I have always had great experiences with priests. They have always been kind and nice to me. There was one priest that I found very hard, strick and judgemental to me at one time in my life. But, that is one out of many that I have met. Come to find out it is just his personality. And people have said he is the way he is. People including priests are human and some need more work than others.

I think of all of the good men that I know or have know who are/were RC priest. It is a hard life for them. They give to the people 200%. Yes, I know that some have sinned and fallen short of their calling, but most have not. The most Christ like man that I ever knew was a RC Franciscan priest.

At Christmas I think of the 2 priest in my favorite movie, "Going My Way".

The priest who married my brother and sister-in-law seemed very ignorant to the fact that they were already living together.

I grew up in Catholic school, and I remember one priest feeding me peanut butter sandwiches on dinner rolls one day when I forgot my lunch. Other than that though.. when we moved when I was in third grade, I had to take special "first confession classes" because in that school, they make first confession in 1st grade, before they could take communion. The priest took me and two 2nd graders into a special room and taught us. Where I came from, apparently we didn't sin enough to confess until 4th grade.

I've been acquainted with one Catholic priest in my life and he was a sincere and God fearing man who comforted my wife's family through a tragedy.

When I think about Catholic priests, I think about the dedicated men of faith who helped me get through some really rough times in my youth. When my dad killed himself, they were there for me. They arranged for counseling for me after discovering the level of abuse I'd suffered at home. They helped me with my education. I could talk with them any time of the day or night. God bless them.

I think of young, good looking, Italian priests. It's so different over there than it is over here!
