Created in the image of the one God and equally endowed with rational souls, all men have the same nature and the same origin. Redeemed by the sacrifice of Christ, all are called to participate in the same divine beatitude: all therefore enjoy an equal dignity.

The Catholic Church supports human rights and humane immigration law.

You shall not oppress an alien; you well know how it feels to be an alien, since you were once aliens yourselves in the land of Egypt. (Exodus 23:9)

The émigré Holy Family of Nazareth, fleeing into Egypt, is the archetype of every refugee family. Jesus, Mary and Joseph, living in exile in Egypt to escape the fury of an evil king, are, for all times and all places, the models and protectors of every migrant, alien and refugee of whatever kind who, whether compelled by fear of persecution or by want, is forced to leave his native land, his beloved parents and relatives, his close friends, and to seek a foreign soil. (Exsul Familia, Pope Pius XII, 1952)

"Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, The wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!" (The Statue of Liberty)

Jesus said, "You shall love your neighbor as yourself." (Matthew 22:39)

If we truly believe and live this greatest commandment then we believe that the earth, this country, everything we have are gifts from God, which we are called to share with our less fortunate neighbors.

+ With love in Christ.

I will forgive you for all the spelling errors, but God will never forgive or forget your vision against people that come here to work, and what is it that we are bankrupting, get a grip, we spend more money than you whites, you only buy a bottle of water, the new york times on sunday, wear the same sneakers for years, and even have swing parties whenever you get tired of your nasty wife or husband, now what?

The Catholic church supports dignity for all....every human on this planet, and if you knew how to read the paper you would realize the Catholic church in America supports illegals. WICKEDLOOKS you obviously are ignorant the Pope was on record as far back as 1924 as being opposed to the Nazis, the Vatican saved many Jews during the war...all historical fact, a few priests supported the Nazis the Vatican did not. You people need to do research before you open your ignorant mouths.

I don't understand why illegal immigrants can't just go through the process to become citizens if they want to live here so badly!
And we're partly to blame for them being here because we are giving them jobs! If we didn't give them jobs then they wouldn't be able to survive here so they would have to go back to where they came from.

Also to the person who made this comment:
"The pope & the catholic church are thieves rapists pedifiles murderers and terrorists...they cant talk about anyone"

I am completely offended by that statement. Anyone can be any of those things without looking at their religious beliefs.
you need a reality check if you think that catholics are the only ones who do any of those things. We should not be judged as being that way just because of the mistakes that some people have made.
I will pray for you because you clearly need it.

I think our elected officials should listen to us and only us, the LEGAL citizens of the USA. No one outside this country has a right to tell us what we can do related to our own sovereignty.

Illegals account for a huge part of the economy. They may not pay certian taxes, but they still get jobs and buy things which helps the economy.

Clearly, you know nothing. Go to bed.
