Cutting is a sign of depression and the need to "get it all out". Instead of screaming, yelling or hitting something, you let out your anger and frustrations this way. It makes you feel in "control" of your emotions. You are not the only kid to feel this way. But it won't go away until you tell your parents and ask for help. You have taken the first step by aknowledging that this is not right. You are a very strong person and you can get over this with help. Tell your parents.

Well, I worked in a juvenile detention facility in Columbus Ohio.

Most of the kids I dealt with were looking for some kind o f validation from a parental figure and/or attention.

You need to realize your self worth although you probably feel that there is none.

But, the real deal is that you must dissassociate your problems with what is causing these feelings to self mutilate.

Do not look at the envirom\nmemnt or how you were brought up. You may feel that your parents do not understand you. This may be right. It is time to open up about what is causing these feelings and bring it to the forefront. Your parents , teachers etc are as confused as you. Commmunication will be the key and as much as most people try to avoid the confrontation , you must to resolve all the ill feelings of why you do this.

Self mutilation is not normal and there are often several underlying causes. These must be addressed for your healthy development.

It is time to step up and accept what is causing these feelings and then confront them. This is the start,.

I cut myself when I was younger too. I was very lonely and depressed, and I felt so hopeless, like my problems would never go away. I didn't have parents or other family members I could trust, so I had to talk to a school counselor. They are trained to understand and help kids who go through stuff like this, and even though you might feel scared or embarrassed, they want to help and they know how to help. If you have an aunt or an uncle or some other family member who loves you and understands some of the difficulties you've had, talk to them. And trust me, because I know from experience, life gets better, and when it does, the urge to cut will go away. Hang in there. You're not alone.

YOU ARE NOT ALONE!! My daughter had similar experiences. GET HELP!!!

There are people who specialize in this sort of thing. There are medications, if that's what you need.

The best thing you can do is to get help as soon as you can. Tell a councellor at school, call the health department (look in the phone book), go to the emergency room at your hospital, tell your parents, tell your friends parents, tell a doctor, nurse, TELL SOMEONE!

Life is such a wonderful gift. You should be living life to its fullest. Many, many people are in similar circumstances and have gotten the help they need. Help is available.

You may suffer from any number of disorders, but it doesn't mean that something is "wrong" with you. Get help, please.

I wish you well.

You will be amazed at how much better you can actually feel.

You definately need to find an adult that you can talk to and whom you trust! They hopefully will guide you to a counselor who can help you learn to better deal with the emotions raging inside of you. There are a lot of teens who deal with cutting and there is help out there. You have already taken the first step but now you need to talk with someone in person, not just those of us on the web.

Sometimes cutting is a means of coping with emotional stress. Did anything severely stressful go on in your life when you were younger? This is also a sign of post traumatic stress and depression. I really think it would be wise for you to talk to your parents about this as maybe you have under lying depression that your not aware of. You could also develop a serious infection so please tell your parents about this so that they can help you.

You do need to talk to someone you feel you can trust, if you don't feel that you can talk to your parents yet. You probably need to get some help too, because this really isn't a path you want to go down, trust me.

you may have some kinda fascination with blood and pain maybe? you have common since so you should stop. its just smart not to cut yourself. your body has to heal that. go ask your mom or dad or friend what you should do?! of course , that would be way to emo.lol. just stop maybe go to a counselor.

you might be depressed.
a lot of people cut themselves because it makes them feel like they are in control and they like the feeling
or because it makes the mental pain go away.
maybe you should see a psychiatrist or however you spell it.
just be careful
