Depends on what you want to do and how far you are willing to go.

Cities within a couple of hours of Cincinnati - Dayton, Columbus, Louisville, Lexington.

In Dayton there is Wright-Patterson which has a great museum of planes.

In Louisville there is the baseball bat factory and museum and Churchill downs with its museum.

In Lexington there is a park/museum to horse racing

If you are looking for other types of day trips check out the book "Kids Love Ohio. It is organized by parts of the state and has things that are fun with or without kids.

Kings Island :) OK- you can always go to Ft. Ancient up north of Lebanon, in the Waynesville area. Or Serpent Mound park, which is a bit more remote, out in the Hillsboro type area. If Indian mounds arent your thing, you could take s trip to Hueston Woods by Oxford, or Caeser's Creek by Waynesville and hike and swim in the lakes. Or you could to to downtown Lebanon and go antiquing through all of the antique stores. Or you could go up to Greene County in the Beavercreek area (Dayton) and go shopping at The Greene, which is the new very nice outdoor shopping complex. Or of course, there is always the outlet malls in Jefersonville too. There you go, ideas for every activity :)
