Some people are misinformed about this. When a man and a woman get together, like each other a WHOLE lot (some might even say love), they have sex. Then, his sperm fertilizes her egg and 9 months later VOILA a baby is born! This isn't exactly what happens with stem cell research. We're not taking a fetus and turning it into Frankenstein. We're taking stem cells out of a persons body and using to recreate something (not a person). For instance, in Finland, a man was missing the upper portion of his jaw. They used stem cells to regrow his upper jaw inside of his own body. To me, that's nothing short of amazing. Tell me, stem cell naysayers, would you deny yourself the opportunity to look remotely normal by not agreeing to regrow your jaw via stem cell research? I wouldn't, I'd be the first to sign up. Brandon edit: For those of you who don't keep up with science, it has been proven that you can create a stem cell without the destruction of an embryo. This is only in it's infancy, no destruction of the embryo, but what do you think about that now?

Oue 'soul' is not something separate and spiritual that flits off at death.
We ARE 'souls', living breathing.
Adam was created a 'soul', not 'given' one.
Animals are souls. they breathe.
soul is translated from the Hebrew word NEPHESH, which means, THAT WHICH BREATHES.
souls can die.
(Revelation 16:3) And the second one poured out his bowl into the sea. And it became blood as of a dead man, and every living soul died, [yes,] the things in the sea.

(Ezekiel 18:4) Look! All the souls—to me they belong. As the soul of the father so likewise the soul of the son—to me they belong. The soul that is sinning—it itself will die.

So what happens when we die?

(Ecclesiastes 9:5-6) For the living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all, neither do they anymore have wages, because the remembrance of them has been forgotten. 6 Also, their love and their hate and their jealousy have already perished, and they have no portion anymore to time indefinite in anything that has to be done under the sun.

Both those babies are in God's memory and will be resurrected.

(Revelation 20:12-13) And I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne, and scrolls were opened. But another scroll was opened; it is the scroll of life. And the dead were judged out of those things written in the scrolls according to their deeds. 13 And the sea gave up those dead in it, and death and Ha′des gave up those dead in them, and they were judged individually according to their deeds.

Those babies, having no sins on earth, have only their 'inherited' sin from Adam and Eve.
And jesus' death has 'paid' for that.
They will have a future as described at;

(Psalm 37:9) For evildoers themselves will be cut off, But those hoping in Jehovah are the ones that will possess the earth.

(Psalm 37:11) But the meek ones themselves will possess the earth, And they will indeed find their exquisite delight in the abundance of peace.

(Psalm 37:29) The righteous themselves will possess the earth, And they will reside forever upon it.

(Psalm 37:34) Hope in Jehovah and keep his way, And he will exalt you to take possession of the earth. When the wicked ones are cut off, you will see [it].

The above is not just my opinion, but is direct from the Bible.
And isn't it amazing how it all fits.

The teaching that the soul is immortal stands in direct conflict with Jesus’ promise of a resurrection, because, if a person is immortal (can never die) he/she can never be resurrected (brought back to life).

In addition, the teaching of the immortality of the human soul is totally without support from the Bible. The word immortal(ity) (Gr: athanasia or undying) is only mentioned in the Bible in two places, and it isn’t used with or applied to the word soul in either case. Both of these scriptures show that immortality is only given by God as a reward for righteousness. And as Ezekiel 18:4 says, ‘The person (gr. psyche or ‘soul’) that is sinning will die (gr. apothaneitai).’

All who go to heaven must prove themselves worthy of such a reward. They must prove themselves faithful until death.
The apostles were among the first ones chosen to co-rule with Jesus in his Father's heavenly government. That is why people go to heaven---to rule as kings, priests and judges over the earth.
All who die , including infants (even in the womb) will be resurrected to life after Armageddon. Billions of people have that hope and Jesus will see to it that all in the memorial tombs are raised from the dead.
A select few are resurrected to rule in heaven, but the majoruty of mankind will be resurrected back to life here on earth, which God has promised will be restored to Edenic perfection . Psalm 37:9-11

no, there is only one soul until the split. A soul is then provided for the other one at that time.

Yes. The Bible says that God knew us even before our parents conceived us. Therefore, God knew just how many babies would result from that single fertilized cell.

All children who die before they reach an age [maturity level or level of sophistication] where they know the difference between right & wrong, will go to Heaven because they are blameless. Since all children develop at different rates, it will be different for each child.

The body does have a soul or spirit until the 4th trimester.
Both souls have not arrived yet.

Wow, that is a fantastic question.

I suppose if destiny plays a role in it then it would be two souls, since they were going to be twins.

Heaven doesn't exist. There is no such thing as a soul. Destiny is a bullshit idea.

Your question has loopholes!
