Of the dogs you've listed I would recommend the Standard Poodle for your purpose. They learn quickly and are highly responsive to obedience training which would be a necessity for agility. In general poodles are most agile of the breeds you mentioned, with the possible exception of German Shepherds, which I would not recommend for agility.
If you really like German Shepherds I would recommend their close relative the Belgian Malinois. The Malinois is an extremely agile dog with a high intellect, and probably in the same class as a border collie or aussie as far as agility is concerned.
Good luck in your search.

German shepards have a high rate of injury in agility compared to other breeds. Mals don't have a sterling reputation for doing well. The poodle, the chi, or doberman all could do well though the clasic agility dog IS the border collie.

There is a great deal of difference in sizes here.....There is a big difference between a chiuaua and an malamute!.....How much room do you have to raise a dog? How strong and fit are you to be able to walk some of the bigger, more muscular, stronger dogs? How much time can you give to your dog for exercising him daily? What kind of time do you have to groom your dog each week? Lots of dogs can perform well in agility - in choosing a breed, you need to look at yourself, your lifestyle and your surroundings to find the right "fit" for you. Then talk to some of the breeders of these dogs to find out if they are a good match for your needs and abilities.

Of the breeds you listed I would chose a standard poodle first and agerman sheperd second (I would pick a smaller built german sheperd), but I compete in agility and none of these would be my top choices if I wanted to be competitive.
The top dogs are consistently border collies, followed in no particular order by australian sheperds, shelties, cattle dogs, jack russel terriers and my personal favorite the save a dog at the shelter mixed breed :)

Only 3 breeds come to mind for agility, Border Collie, Irish Terrier, and Jack Russell Terrier. All three breeds are generally highly intelligent, active, and extremely agile.

I instruct my cairn (yogie) in agility and he loves it. relaxing loving, guy or woman like canine. i might in no way get an different sort of canine and it extremely is humorous because of fact the e book i've got been given on him says that those that very own t hem wont prefer the different sort of canine. he's a great agility canine some cases he races in the time of the domicile and jumps over issues, extremely humorous to work out.

For agility, Doberman, Shepherd... or Golden Retriever, Labrador, or Border Collie.
These are all good dogs to train, and they love agility.

I would suggest a standard poodle,
I have one, and it's much faster than a lot of other dogs I see.
