my husband is having some throbbing pains with sharp pains sneeking in at times in his lower left abdomen or upper groin area, he says it doesnt hurt when sitting down just when he is up moving doesnt seem to have any other symptoms nauseau fever or anything else....anyone have any clue if this is serious?

he has had a kidney stone before and says this is nothing like it, it has been going on about 4-5 hours now...i cant seem to find any answers on the net that have symptoms of the pain going away when still, thats the puzzler everything says the pain stays steady for kidey stone, gallstones, appendicitits..etc

forgot to mention my husband is an emt and doesnt seem to know what is wrong with himself...lol

He needs to go see a doctor. Some of the possiblities which come to mind include but are not limited to
pulled muscle
kidney stone (would be my guess)
hernia
tortioned testicle
urinary tract infection
Just to let you know, I am a RN and men are usually too scared to tell how serious their pain is. They in particular dont want you to know if it feels like someone is ripping their testicles out. Take him to the doctor. They will probably ask you to start straining his urine.

It is not a hernia you can feel a lump or bulge when you press the area of pain.

A problem with his bowels, maybe. Not sure. You didn't say how long it has been going on so it may be gastritis or something like that. Good Luck!

it could be an inguinal hernia. If he has a bulge in that area it could be one. Otherwise- it could be a kidney stone- is his urine bloody?, it could be colon/rectum- any blood in stool?

Hernia maybe. Your spleen is over there so maybe something with that....

believe it or not prostrate problems have similar symptoms
