Theres nothing wrong with keeping a friendly relationship, in fact if you keep it down to small talk on the phone he will mellow out eventually. He just wants to hear your voice, it will make him less upset about losing you to know he can still talk to you once and a while. Just keep it on the phone

You both have issues. His issues are control issues and insecurity. I would guess that every time you get close to someone, is when he decides he wants you back, tell me if I am wrong. If he treats you the way you said he does, it will always be that way. He is not going to change. He’s probably been that way with every other women that have been in his life. On the other hand, you need to let go, you are an adult and know what is right and wrong. These other guys you mentioned. You are doing the same thing to them as he is to you. Is that fair to them? Believe me there are great guys out there. I went through a divorce and it was hard to get over my ex. I met a man, he adored me, he made me feel warm all aver. He was kind and gentle. He treated me like a queen. He was a realist, he told me things that I did not like to hear, but they were the truth. Eventually I got over my ex and am now with the new love of my life and we’ve been together almost 2 years now. I now know what it is like to be treated with kindness and respect. We adore each other and are best friends. He has made me forget my past and look to a future, he has made my life complete. I’ve finally found what I was looking for. I almost overlooked it when it was right in front of me the entire time. I suggest for your wellbeing, you make amends with the man who you care for the most and you will see he too will be by your side through even the worst times. If you open your heart to him, you will see how fast your ex will vanish, but you need to take the chance. Tell him the truth and if he stays by your side, he’s probable the right person for you. These people are hard to find, so don’t pass up a good thing for a bad thing. Time and true love will heal the pain.Give it a chance and you will see.

Tell him he should have thought about how hard it would be to let you go BEFORE he cheated. Now he is dealing with the consequences of his actions. There isn't a real need to tell him nicely, he doesn't seem to be getting nice. How about, "you played the wrong hand, and now you're out of the game".

If he says it did not mean any thing to him, tell him to bad cause it meant a whole lot to you.
Just tell him to leave and go back to the girl that was so special that he threw away a two year relationship. That you want nothing from him and to just walk away. Your trust is broke and wont be repaired ever. With out trust there is nothing.

"I have nothing to say to you. Please do not call me anymore." Then don't take his calls. Block his number. The sooner you move on, the better off you will be. Smart girl to dump him.
