It depends on the size of the mole, but most leave little or no scarring. The doctor will make two elliptical incisions, remove the mole, and then pull the edges together, so you will have a small straight line. Usually steri-strips are used on the exterior of the incision so that there are no visible suture marks. Too, the doctor will try to place the incision so that it becomes part of a smile line rather than crossing a natural line, if you can visualize what I mean. The incision will be pink for about 6 months but within a year you will be the only one who can find it. For best results, have a plastic surgeon do it. That's justified since it's on your face.

Depends on a lot of things like the size of the mole, the location of it and the talent of the surgeon. Go speak to a doctor who can refer you to someone who will be able to give you a pretty good idea of the outcome. All surgery scars. Which is the lesser of the two evils to you? The mole or the scar?

I had a mole removed and it left a a pretty bad scar. I had a dermatologist do it. I saw a plastic surgeon a year after I had the mole removed and was told since it was in a visible area I should have had him remove the mole NOT the dermatologist. So I HIGHLY recommend having a plastic surgeon remove your mole especially since it is on your face.

As far as I know, that kind of surgery doesn't leave a scar. What they usually do is just cut out the mole, and replace the empty space with skin from another part of the body (usually the *** or upper thigh), so there's no room for scar tissue to develop. I'm no doctor though.

A dermatologist can remove it with a slight scar or no scar at all depending on the size of the mole.

Probably will depend on the size of the mole. I had one on my check just in front of my ear removed. It was about the size of a pea. The scar is barely noticeable.

had a really big one taken off my handsome face when I was 18. it was 1/4 inch x 1-1/4 inches and a nasty reddish brown color. Felt so good to get it off. The bandage came off in little more than a week, and, the scar is hardly visible to this day. I don't know if people ever noticed that I had it, but the difference in self-confidence was remarkable.

Check with the Derm Doctor on the Extract Laser to remove the scar. Have them do a biop also to make sure its just a AK and not cancer as you might as well since they are taking it anyhow.
