Shouldn't be difficult since you are both consenting adults. More or less filing paperwork. You should have a family law attorney process it for you. Be prepared though as you will be issued an amended birth certificate with your Aunts name in place of your moms and your old one will be void.

Why an adoption? You can achieve similar results with a name change, wills, and power of attorney etc. without changing your birth records

You've already been given some good links. I just wanted to add a tip. Once your aunt has adopted you, you are no longer eligible to inherit anything from your parents unless you are specifically listed in the will (and other siblings can challenge that). If that is not an issue, great!!

In many states, you don't even need a lawyer. Check at your County Courthouse and find out what needs to be filed.

Try this website:
http://www.nj.gov/faqs/parent/index.html

Type in "adult adoption" in the search field. You may find what you need there.
