I have been diagnosed with Fibromalgia. From my understanding there is no test to know for sure if I have this???
Does anyone now much about it. For the last 2 weeks I've been exhausted (not sleepy), I've had headaches, and my muscles are achy. My doctor says I've had a flare up from the Fibromalgia. Blood work is fine. Does this sound right???

I also have fibromalgia. All you described are symptoms, but you can also have trigger points to the back. In fact the trigger points on the back is the usual way you get diagnosed. Many times it is extremely difficult to determine exactly which auto-immune/mixed connective tissue disease process is going on, they are very similar. Sometimes I am so tired I am done just climbing the stairs to my house {there are only four}. Another symptom is inability to sleep, which increases the pain level the next day, which in turn makes it difficult to sleep again. Quite a vicious circle! From one diagnosed person to another here is what will help: as much as possible get regular sleep at night {lack of sleep will cause a flair up}, get some regular but gentle exercise {walking is excellent-not sure why but it really helps}, take care you eat right {Fibro can effect your calicum levels & potassium levels- both are critical} & when in a flair up it does not help to push yourself when fatigued. It is difficult for others to understand the chronic fatigue, it is quite unlike anything they will ever experience, but very real. If you try to push yourself at those times you just prolong the flair up. My best wishes for you & remember to take care of yourself.

Hello I have firbomyalgia for a long time. Exhaustion and aches and pains. It is also considered a sleeping disorder.
I donated part of my leg muscle for an expermint for the Disease. These researchers have found that there are probable enzyme problems in the mitricondial of the cell. They have also found that people with fibromyalgia have 3 -5 times neurotransmiters up the spine, which means we feel things more. If is often hard to sleep because they hypothalmis gets constantly bombarded.

I find I do my best when I heat healthy. Also I have to do stretdhes and take a brisk walk Twice a day. Add swimming and other exercises. If you beome immobal al the wose thinkg you can do.

Keep activd.

Fibromyalgia is really a condition. This means that if you have a series of symtoms, you have the condition. That's what makes for a positive diagnosis.

The inflammatory factors tested in blood are just another biomarker to see what's going on inside your body. It's possible to make the other symptoms of fibromyalgia even though your inflammatory factors aren't out of control at the time.

Fibromyalgia is usually the diagnosis after lupus, etc have been eliminated. Have you been to an immunologist/rheumatologist?

i have a friend that has it. Stress, lack of sleep, and fatigue are some of the major complaints voiced. She also has muscles that ache. Take frequent rest breaks, cut back on stress (if you can), and get a healthy diet. Labs will be normal.
