Okay so I just started a new job June 6th I worked for about 2 hours to learn everything and then I work 8 1/2 hours on Sunday and they haven't said anything about me filling out paperwork for a W2 and they pay me on sundays which is weird cause there are no banks open sunday. Everyone says this is very strange what do you think?

Ask them about it. The form they should have had you fill out is a W-4, which tells them how much tax to deduct. The W-2 is the form you get at the end of the year showing how much you made and how much tax was deducted.

Maybe they just haven't gotten to that yet, although they are supposed to when you first start working. It's possible that they are planning to pay you "under the table" without reporting it to the IRS - that's illegal.

There's a third way to pay you, as an independent contractor. They are only allowed to pay you that way if your job duties are of a certain type - from your description it sounds more like you're an employee and should be filling out a W-4 now and getting a W-2. Ask them about it, and don't wait until the end of the year.

Getting paid on Sunday is not weird, they can pay on whatever day they want to. But if you get/got paid and they don't/didn't take out anything for taxes, then something is wrong.

You have to fill out a W-4 form, not W-2.

are they paying you in cash?, if so they are probably paying you under the table. I would ask them why they are not having you fill out w2

Just ask for a W2 and get it over with. If they don't give you one, I would quit. It would be a little to sketchy for me.

When you start a job.....it is a W4 that you fill out.

Just keep asking.
