I will be moving into a new apartment in the fall and I recently bought an antique brown/dark brown desk and i would like to leave it as the color it is now and have the rest of my furniture be a dark brown as well. the walls are white (and unfortunately have to stay white) and I would like to do some black and white bedding and have some sort of bright accent color but I dont know how the black bedding would look with brown furniture

It should actually look quite nice. Right now, accent colors that are hot include brick red, aqua blue, and very soft green. Have fun!

Brown And White Bedding

FINE... just make sure the bedding accessories are black, white, and brown... include black and white accessories on your brown desk or elsewhere in your room... it's a neutral room the way you described it, which is relaxing and not too busy if you like that... anyhow, if you're looking for more excitement, don't hesitate to add a color or two... choose your favorites...
you may not like the white wall, yet use them to display your pieces better because of the contrast they create, and at the same time use wall accessories that will take away attention from the white... like big black and white photos, or big pale brown amongst other colors paintings... don't forget that proper lighting at night will make the wall not so white... go for soft warm general lighting, and strong warm task lighting like a lamp for your desk...

... but the black bedding is good ;)

Good luck...

Black bedding should be fine with brown furniture, and white walls certainly simplify things.
Pick your favorite bright to add color and warmth to the room, and use in accessories; drapes, rug, pillows, lamps, pictures or their frames.
fire engine red
orange orange [ probably too Halloween ]
lemon yellow
grass green
royal blue
bright purple,
or go a little outside the box and pick caramel or steel gray.

depressing with so much dark stuff; get some red in there somewhere to liven things up.
