"What if God was one of us"? Good show, I enjoyed the first season very much. It was basic, but very deep. Be good to each other, and help each other out; that's what we're all here for. No "Worship me", or "Go to church" garbage, just "Take care of each other".
Unfortunately, the second season got bogged down with the Annie Potts plotline, and it seemed to lose its way. Not surprisingly, it was cancelled soon after.
I miss shows like that, it had a great message, and didn't seem to be too preachy.

It did 3 seasons. The only thing that ever bugged me was the wheel chair brother. I felt that was a little too much, but as a whole I liked the show and felt it was well cast, well written and well produced.
Did you know her father was Russ Tamblyn, remember him from way way back in TV and movies.
She's a really good actor and I'm surpised she isn't working more (or is she?)
She's the best actor I've seen since Holly Marie Combs
She oozes off the screen. She doesn't even have to say a line.

Yes I did. The first time I watched an episode was when God told Joan to hold a garage sale, which led to her trying to sell paintings her mother made in college, which turned out to be paintings her mother made after being raped. This led to Joan and her mother growing closer, and allowed her mother to express why she (rightfully, it turns out) thought this boy Joan liked was bad news. I was majorly impressed with the quality of the storytelling without feeling someone was cramming religion down my throat.
I also thought Joan's interaction with God was hysterical. I loved how she'd blow off a god or tell him/her s/he was "seriously twisted."
Then the second season came out and I was like "what is this crap" and stopped watching.

Yes I thought it was a great show brought up all kinds of interesting questions and concepts. That's probably why it didn't last people actually had to think to get into it.

Never heard of it.
I haven't seen much TV from the last couple years or so, aside from the end '06 and '07.
Some Christian show, I'm assuming?
