I don't want to, but no one has been able to answer this for me. It has been something my bf and I talked about.
When you're 16 in Maryland, you can have sex. So, does that mean that you can have sex with a 50 year old guy?
p.s. My bf is 16 and I'm 15

If the legal age is 16, the he's allowed to have sex with anyone older or his age, but not younger. If you really want to, just make sure you don't get caught. I didn't know the legal age in Maryland was 16 though because in most places it's 18. If it were 18, you both could have sex and not worry about it until he turns 18.

that depends, in georgia ur considered an adult when ur 16 or 17, not sure. however this is not a license to go and have sex with just anyone. that is such a beautiful intimate thing that it should only be done with the person that is going to give back to you, just as much as u give too. if you really want to know ask your local Planned Parenthood. they should know, or if not they would guide you. no matter you need to talk to them to know about all the pros and cons about sex and preventions. if i could tell u what u should do, i say. SAVE YOURSELF TILL MARRIAGE. it is the most wonderful gift you can give your future husband to be.

That's what it means. It's called the "age of consent." It's the age the state thinks you're mature enough to decide for yourself whether you want to have sex with a particular person or not, as long as the other person is also over the age of consent. Below that age, sex is considered to be abusive (statutory rape), no matter what the kid thinks, feels, or says. They aren't old enough to really know what's good for them and what isn't. It's not illegal for two kids who are both under the age of consent to do sexual things with each other, it's only against the law if one is over the age of consent and the other is younger than the age of consent.

no. u being legal only applies to if u can get in trouble for sexual acts with a minor.
the def of a minor is different state to state. NY is 17.
so your bf could get in trouble.
15 is too young for sex anyways.

SWEETIE why would a good looking young lady like yourself want to have sex with anyone to start with--save yourself as there is so much diseases around today and you never know who might give you something---always know the person really good and who their friends are before you start to date then know him along time before you even kiss--there is a kissing didease as well so enjoy life, go and have fun with your own age female friends but no drinkinging or drugs thats where the problems lie..and you sound like a very smart person.

Typically, people under 18 can only have sex with other people under 18, and people over 18 can only have sex with other people over 18. The only exeption to this is the "romeo and juliet" clause, which says that if you're both under 18 and you have sex, but then one of you turns 18, you can still have sex with them.

No - it is illegal for an adult (someone 18+) to have sex with a minor (anyone under 18). Even if that minor is of "legal age" to consent to sex. That only refers to sex with another minor.
