Your thought is lovely! However, it has about as much chance of being acceptable to theists as does the theory of atheism, because it matters tremendously to the devout believers that God exists! To the religious, God is personal, besides possessing an entire litany and a "holy" scripture associated with him, which are the bases for their devotion and rituals, holidays and sacraments. The conflict between the opposing views will find no common ground! Imagine, though, the poor agnostic (such as I am) confronted with the unanswerable, mentally and endlessly! I may consider your concept seriously!

The***PRAYNOGRAPHER***Will take on this very simple riddle. Once upon a time most believed that the world was flat. Just because they all believed it. Didn't make it so , did it? Enough said. Give it much thought. Doubt it . Then think again. You will be enlightened. If you see a light at an end of a tunnel. Get off the tracks it is a train coming right at you!

Let's play the WHAT IF GAME
WHAT IF GOD EXISTS
WHAT IF THERE IS AN END OF TIME
WHAT IF THERE IS A GOOD PLACE TO STAY AND AND BAD PLACE TO STAY
WHAT IF HOW YOU ARE IN LIFE DECIDES WHICH PLACE YOU GO TO
OK, your FREE WILL leads you to sit next to a man on a plane with TB
EVERYONE FINDS OUT, including your family and employer.
Your employers tells you have have to take a leave of abscence without pay and without benefits or they have no choice but to let you go, because you are a POTENTIAL RISK for everyone else in the workplace.
NO ONE will side with you.
NO JUDGE will let YOU into his court room without a DOCTOR saying YOU POSE NO RISK
NO DOCTOR WILL SAY THAT
They will say you need to be QUARANTEENED for a period of time and TESTED to see if you turn up POSTIVE for TB
NO lawyer will see you once they find out you were EXPOSED to TB and aren't cleared by a doctor.
The only way you'll get unemployment is if you get fired or laid off and then you have to wait a month
You will have to PAY for your own health insurance or go on GENERAL RELIEF
NO doctor will declare you DISABLED until a TB test shows POSITIVE
Do you get my point.
DO YOU THINK YOUR WIFE will let you be with your KIDS in close contact
Do you think your wife will let you have SEX with her, if you have been exposed to TB, a potentially contagious disease that can be passed to people by BREATHING on them.
You will become a LEPER
Until such a time as you can get a doctor to say YOU DON'T HAVE IT AND POSE NO RISK
That is the Mark of the Beast and God don't want it in heaven.
NOW do you understand.

You have almost got it right. As explained to me, Christians (in my country anyway) adopt the view that it does not matter if the Bible (new testament) is 100% correct or not, they are going to live their lives as if it is correct. It literally does NOT matter if God exists or not, they are going to follow your suggestion, but include belief that God exists as a given.

Nice thought, but theists wouldn't buy it. They believe that good, even in atheists, is the result of God.

He's not necessary. Besides, To Christians it does matter if there is a god or not. for most part atheist believe it doesn't matter. But to the Christians it does and they try to dictate to everyone else what is and is not. That what most atheist disagree on.

I wish believers would quit waisting our time arguing with people over the Internet. Why not use this forum to encourage the down trodden instead?

In order to realize God doesn't exist, we have to get ourselves deeply into the whole belief in God thing.
We get so involved, it's hard to get out of it. We get addicted to it. If we had have never gotten addicted, we would have never realized God doesn't exist in the first place

That point has been made a thousand times, with the cheerful reply of, "Well, you're going to hell anyway, why not just TRY to love God?"
Or some other tripe.
In other words, they just don't get the point.

that is what we are trying to say to the theists
i take charge of my life. no god.
but some theists feel that we are self-centred, just because we don't allow god to walk into our life.
