Oh boy ... where do I start?
First off, nowhere does the Catholic Church teach that BEING gay is a sin. Even some priests and bishops undoubtedly have a homosexual orientation. So, a Pope having that orientation, by itself, would be inconsequential.
The Church teaches that homosexual ACTIONS, not ORIENTATION, are morally illicit.
So, a "gay Pope" would be a problem only if the Pope were committing homosexual ACTS.
The Catholic Church cannot ever change its teachings on homosexuality, regardless of who is Pope.
And no, the Church has never excommunicated anyone for having homosexual urges. It's what a person does with those urges that counts.
No offense, but I'm afraid that your question is based on at least two misconceptions regarding Catholicism's teachings on homosexuality.
If you had really understood the Church's teachings on homosexuality in the first place, you would not have had any cause to ask such a question to begin with.

Created in the image of the one God and equally endowed with rational souls, all men have the same nature and the same origin. Redeemed by the sacrifice of Christ, all are called to participate in the same divine beatitude: all therefore enjoy an equal dignity.
The Catholic Church believes there is nothing sinful about being homosexual. But homosexuals like all unmarried people are called to celibacy.
The Church specifically says that homosexuals "must be accepted with respect, compassion, and sensitivity. Every sign of unjust discrimination in their regard should be avoided."
Here is the text of the document, On the Pastoral Care of Homosexual Persons (1986): http://www.newadvent.org/library/docs_df86ho.htm
With love in Christ.

What you described would mean that the Pope would be an unrepentant sinner. There have been a few scoundrals who were Pope in the past. It certainly would have no effect on the teachings of Christ, homosexual acts would still be a grave sin. I don't really know canonically what the options would be in such a hypothetical case. I would think he'd have the option to resign.

Being gay or not would not be the issue. The Pope is expected to be chaste, regardless or orientation. Orientation is not a sin, how you live your life within that context is.
The Pope could be gay and yet chaste and still be within the moral expectations of his role as head of the church.
And No, Catholics do not think the Pope infallible, or perfect, only that when he speaks excathedra (from the chair of Peter) he and the bishops can not teach error in matters of faith, only. This has happened only twice in the last 100 years.

The Church does not have a problem with gays. The Church has a problem with all people, both gay and straight who have sex outside of marriage. Since the Church forbids marriage between two gays, the Church asks them to remain celibate for life and also asks heterosexuals to remain celibate until marriage.
If the Pope were to declare that he was gay, that would not be a moral problem as long as he remains true to the vow of celibacy that he took when he was ordained a priest.

Have you ever heard of "the Great Pornocracy"? This is a term applied to a certain time in the catholic church. Look it up.

Neither. No one, not even the Pope, has the authority to change divine law, and having same-sex attractions is not sinful, and certainly not an excommunicable offense.

The pope is celibate...meaning that he has taken a vow not to have sex. It wouldn't matter if he was gay or not, if he wasn't having any sex.
