By my parents' version, it means 'beautiful goddes'. Then, I decided to see a clairvoyance (not a real one, just an old man I knew who happened to possess the ability) to change the meaning and the script.. I am very sorry for myself that I lost the script this old man gave me. The new meaning is 'new' or 'fresh' and 'sweet smell beautiful white flower'.
My name still sounds the same, but the script has changed and, believe it or not, it has changed my perspectives towards life too.. now I'm a 'new' person everyday.. happy, hopeful, and grateful.. and share happiness with people around me.. (I hope).

One of my Japanese students gave me a Japanese name.. Akiho.. because I was born in the Autumn.. But, he said the the name was unusual... :-))

My original full name, Michaela, the feminine of Michael, apparently means "Who is like god!"

I now go by Mika, which in Japanese means "beautiful smell," it seems.

I like the name Amanda, which in Latin means "(a woman) to be loved."
