Great question. But I have to agree with Randy, there is no single "side". Even the most basic topics can be absolutely divisive. Faith, abortion, terrorism, the war in Iraq. These issues (and so many more) stir up passions and beliefs far beyond reason and compromise. Even the Democrats and Republicans refuse to cooperate, the very thing that we elected them to do as our professional, mature, and thoughtful representatives. How much less can we expect from the general population who are only interested in their own welfare?
And that is just here in the U.S. What about those in foreign countries who are raised to believe that other nations are no less than the "great satan" and the people who live in those nations are not worthy of life? Those folks dwell on a "side" that I can't even comprehend.
There will come a time when the world will unite as one. But even that will not come easily, there will be multitudes who will resist, and even refuse. But eventually, all will come together again. Unfortunately it won't be a result of the next election cycle.
All we can really do is try to make a difference every day, one person at a time. When all the marbles are finally counted will our efforts matter much? Probably not. But we will know we tried, and God will know as well. And that will make the difference! We are not without hope if we know where to look for it.

We're on the same side? The problem is that that doesn't really make any sense. It sounds as though this is one cosmic bingo game or something. The problem is that there is only so many resources, so much capital, so much power, etc. The question is, who do we most want to have to the power? There is the west and our heritage and values and there is pretty much everyone else which are led by dramatically different values.
We aren't on the same side, for better or worse.

Ideally, we are. Unfortunately ideals always take a back seat to our petty little wants, and the wants of most people put them in direct opposition of every body else. I'll do what I can to change that, but don't get your hopes up.

But we're (all the world) not. We as the human race need to develop tolerance and acceptance of those who are different from us.

Most people are only looking out for themselves at the expense of everyone else. They have their side only and screw your side.

It would be so much better if the racists understand that we all have to breath, eat, sleep & drink to survive.
