well i had an interview and they told me 7.40 and hour and i thought that was good so im just wondering other opinions.

Depending on where you live (based off the cost of living) between $6-8. $7.40 is good! If you liked the place you applied for, and they offer you a job, take it! Good luck!

It depends on the job...most 16-year-olds start out working in restaurants or retail, which both pay minimum wage. Minimum wage depends on the state where you live. But when I was 16 (4 years ago), a lot of my friends worked 'under the table'...and when you do that there is no minimum wage...you get what you get. I would suggest working in retail...at least you are protected legally and financially. :)

Unless you have some exceptional talents, a regular job will pay minimum wage. If you don't accept it, there's probably a lot of other 16 year olds in line for the job.

Minimum wage for work in the business sector. Privately IE: Babysitting/lawn mowing $10 an hour (and tax free).

well, my first job i started out at 4.00 an hr. plus tips. but i worked as a waitress. it depends on the job but you probally wont get over 5.25 an hr. that is minium wage in texas anyways.
