I would say the best thing to do is NOT POP THEM EWWW! first try a at home mask (brown sugar and milk stir untill a paste and rub on skin it will rid of all the dry skin) before doing this open your pores with hot water and afterward splash your face with cold water to close them up do this once a week. i saw a difference.

The key to getting rid of black heads is to clear away old skin cells to unblock pores & get rid of excess oil. Products w/ benzoyl peroxide will help to kill germs and reduce oiliness.
Mechanical exfoliation is good for clearing pores and steam facials will help open pores & loosen black heads.

Here are some product recommendations, home remedies & facial how tos:
1) Neutrogena Clear Pore Cleanser/Mask - has benzoyl peroxide & clay. I prefer to use it as a mask. Neutrogena's product line w/ salicylic acid is good too.

2) Oxy 10 Face wash

3) Aveeno Positively Radiant Daily Cleansing Pads - has exfoliating side that will help remove dead skin cells

Other remedies:
Add a bit of water to 2-3 tblsp. of baking soda to make a paste & use it as face scrub. Use gentle pressure.

Or you can crush up 6 plain, uncoated aspirin tablets and mix it w/ a little water to make mask.

Mixture: 6 crushed uncoated aspirins, mixed with the liquid facial cleanser at hand (I usually use either cetaphil or tersaseptic), and 1-2 drops of tea tree oil.

Mix half a teaspoon of crushed uncoated aspirin tablets with Queen Helene Mint Julep mask or aloe vera gel to use as a mask.

Use about 6 uncoated tablets, witch hazel, tee trea oil, and aloe to make a thin paste.

For toner:
8 ounce bottle of distilled water add four uncoated aspirin
or
mix of 1/2 water, 1/2 witch hazel, 15 aspirin, and 2 drops of tea tree essential oil and 2 drops of rosemary essential oil

Steam facials will help too. Here's how to DIY: http://www.ehow.com/how_2564_give-yourself-facial.html

Do not mess with them - that will only make it worse. Try a benzoyl peroxide product (WalMart's brand is less expensive and works fine). Or, I hear the products called Pro Activ are wonderful - you can find good prices online at various places. Hang in there - it will get better - just keep your hands off of them!
