I love how everyone says that Dale Earnhardt Sr is "spinning" in his grave about Dale Jr. joining Hendrick.....first of all I Believe that Sr would respect his son's decision and would be happy for him.

I do not know where everyone body gets their information from in regards to Sr and Gordon having this all consuming rivalry. This is nothing more than Dale Sr's "fans" and Gordons "fans" having nothing better to do than create drama for themselves. I think it is disrespectful to nascar as a whole for the way that their "fans" carry on.

Comparing one driver to another driver to say the least is absoultely the stupidest thing that can ever be done. To say that a race car drivers son isnt exactly like how his father was makes him less of a driver? Hello people reality check time here, sons are not clones of their fathers and therefore will not be exactly like their fathers.

I love how everyone predicts how someones career is going to go as well. If you can predict things I believe you have better things to be doing than on Yahoo! answers.

I think that one of the reasons that Jr. is not more like his father is that his father is gone. Dale, Sr. was Jr.'s coach, mentor and sometime spotter. Sr. died before teaching Jr. all he needed to know to be a legendary racer.

Jr. has become a legendary celebrity on his own. Now he has the backing of the best NASCAR program behind him. He will have the best equipment available. Two of the other drivers on the team have five Nextel Cups between them. Surely they help Junior become a better driver. Maybe Sr. taught Jeff Gordon a few tricks that he can pass on to Jr.

This is not the first time that a star driver has left a powerhouse team to drive for another. Bill Elliot leaving Melling for Junior Johnson and Darrell Waltrip leaving Junior Johnson and going to Hendrick come to mind.

As for comparing one driver to another, compare Dale, Sr. to Jeff Gordon and not to Jr. Dale, Sr. and Gordon have close to the same number of wins. Sr. has seven championships and Gordon has four, soon to be five. Gordon has the best winning percentage (wins/starts) of any active driver and is second in this stat all-time to the King. Give Junior a few years at Hendrick and then judge. If he cannot get it done (win a championship or two) in a Hendrick car then he is not ever going to get it done .

Many fans do not look at the stats. It is obvious from the way they carry on. Many act like Junior is the second son of God! Throwing beer cans at Gordon when he tied Sr.'s win record. Talk about spinning in his grave. That would do it in my book.

Wow, you had alot to unload there. But true to an extent.

Senior and Gordon where business Partners and men that defined their Eras. They are Legends with few equals; forever tied together as they both raced door to door with one Legend's career twilighting and the other Legend's career just dawning. You can't really compare the two because the both faced very different challenges and very different times in racing history.

Yeah, Senior Fans have created alot of the antagonist fueding with Gordon Fans and Gordon Fans have sttod their ground in the face of it and fired off a few shots as well.

I agree it is time to stop placing Junior on a pedestal and making him greater then he really is. Yes, his Father would be very proud of his new career move and not rolling in his grave as the Junior Nation so wished he would.

As for being able to predict the future for Junior. No one knows; and when I say he is going to od great things wherever he goes is because he has shown flashes of greatness in the past. I think with the weight of his Father's legacy off of him; Junior will be a very strong competitor again and a force to be reckoned with for the next decade.

I've always been a big fan of 24, and I've grown to respect the Earnhardt's after learning more about the guys, not all that WWF-style crap that a lot of so-called fans and media types perpetuate.
I agree with the notion that this move puts Jr. in the best position to move out of his dad's shadow and make his own name.
Who knows what this will do for him in terms of winning? Should be a good move for both sides.

Just a friendly reminder Dale SR. drove for Hendricks once upon a time himself.

Well said! I still miss Dale Earnhardt Sr! People who always like to complain are usually the ones who are sitting on their couches with no guts or talent to go out there and perform what Jr has!

put to words greatly.... although he might respect his decision to leave-- cmon; you know this guy is pissed inside for his son jumping ship.. had he approached teresa differently, maybe this question would have never been asked.. but he just doesnt seem like the business professional type to me... conversely, teresa should have respected a little more the merchandise cash cow she had... youre right --- hes no dale sr. and if he doesnt perform with hendrick; he wont have to threaten to leave-- rick will boot him... think about the disrespect in nascar and where it comes from??? gordon fans--- i think not... no throwing stuff here-- we just say when is the next race... not crazy about him coming to hendrick-- it just feels like a deal with the devil and time will tell who the devil is cause i hear hell is starting to freeze over and lucifer is movin out...

I absolutely agree with you! I too think Dale Sr would be very happy that Jr is going to a team where he can start winning again and possibly win a championship.

Your right on with this one!

I'm a Kurt fan not a Gordon fan but I call them the way I see them. He's one of the best ever.If my son had a chance to be a teammate with one of the best ever I'd be proud.
