If either champion Tony Stewart or Jeff Gordon opted for free agency?

You think the Junior Drama was a feeding frenzy. Jeff Gordon is a legend and even when he reaches the twilight of his career (which I pray is no time soon) he would be highly sought after by nearly every Team.

Tony is by far the most talented Driver in NASCAR today. If he wasn't so stubborn and hot tempered I would dare to say he would have 3 to 4 Championships by now. He is fearless, wreckless, and no one knows just what he is going to do next; but I tell you this he will get the car to victory lane from time to time and when he's not getting it to victory lane he'll get it plenty of camera time beatin and bangin with someone on the track.

These two as free agents would send NASCAR into a complete frenzy like throwing chum into a pack of Mako Sharks. Do I hear dinner bells?

Jeff has a lifetime contract with Hendrick, but if he didn't?
The first guy after him would be Evernham, & Jeff would likely go, so long as he wasn't beholden to Chevy.

Tony's another story. Not sure where he'd go. He wouldn't be quite as universally welcomed as Junior (IMHO), but there are several teams he could end up with.

Jeff Gordon has a lifetime contract and anyone stupid enough to get rid of either driver would have to be insane and not thinking clearly to get rid of one of their top drivers I could have seen that early in their careers but now that they are succuessful I jsut don't think it would ever happen.

If you think this one is rough...just let something like that happen...were Gordon to leave the team he partially owns...it would never stop...If it were smoke, people would be hanging on edge to see where this talented guy was gonna go, just look at what happened when he mentioned retiring...people went nuts till he cleared it up that would be decided after this contract was up.
Good Question.
