You should wash your hair with warm water. It opens up the hair cuticles and the pores on your scalp. When you condition your hair you want to seal the cuticle and smooth the hair which will give your hair shine. Cold water works best to do this and to close the pores on your scalp.
If you have extremely dry or brittle hair, try wrapping a hot, wet towel around your head for about 10 to 15 minutes. The heat will help the conditioner penetrate your hair shaft better. Then follow up with a cold water rinse for shine.

it doesn't really matter as long as the water isn't too hot, just before you turn the water off give your hair a good blast of cold water. it will make it smoother and shinier, im a first year hairdresser. temperature is nothing while washing it's the ingredients in the products you use that count.

From what I've tried there is a slight difference. Cold cold water tends to accept the moisture more and add shine, too.

Neither warm water . Too cold or hot water makes your hair shed more , usually stylists use warm water cause it makes your hair look healthier.

first of all, i do not suggest washing ur hair every day!!! u should take a shower, but dont get your hair wet(unless it gets really greasy)...you should usually wash it with hot water, but about once a week, you should wash it under cold water to add shine...if you do it any longer than that, then your hair will be like a mirror(shiny)

You should shampoo w/warm water and rinse w/cold it closes the pores in your scalp.
same with your face use warm to open pores and cold to close them same rule applies with your scalp.

I've heard hot is better for shampoo cuz it removes impurities but cold is good for conditioner cuz it seals in moisture and shine.
