I am doing a marketing project and one of the questions is to come up with promo strategies for attracting men to a day spa. So far I have "bring a friend offer" that offers discounts, and linking with other organizations (such as a gym) to promote the day spa. I need to list the description, advantages, disadvantages and suitability for the spa. (remember, its men only) I can not include customer loyalty. So, for the men out there, what kind of strategy would attract you to a day spa? lol...

Hi There,

I wish i have more info on the project to give you a more accurate workable plan as mens "attraction" may differ from countries, cities, education, racial background and aspiration. You have not defined the target of promotion in actual numbers and the maximum numbers that the spa can handle. How much is the spa willing to spend and how long before they want their ROI.

Generally speaking here is a simple plan that should have a 75% sucess rate if followed accordingly. Base the target on assumed capacity of 80 pax per hour and 10 hours per day operation. Assuming that you have no problems during 3 hours that is peak where you have enough customers for optimum operations without jeopordising service quality.

Now with that. The non-productive hours are 7 hours.

General attraction for men.

1. Sporting events like soccer, football, basketball ect.ect. In target area you need to ascertain what excites them and when can they spend the time watching it.

On this area, Look for midnight spa with sports. Tie a concept to it like spa basketball finals with free drinks.

2. Offer tryout with coupons for the during non productive time.

3. Membership programs would work too. Membership though pre-sale coupons at a huge discounts and tie it with discount for peak.

4. Corporate sales would work too offering discounts for targeted company.

Actually there is lots that you can do in events but marketing programs and events must be constant if you want the customers to keep coming in.

If its a mens exclusive retreat. Keep it that way. Loyal customers will want it that way since that is their main objective of being there. Indentify your core customers and learn how to keep them and expand that market. Do not saturate your customer with many groups as it is very hard to market and keep them happy.

Good Luck

I would write an article that follows this basic guidline.

The Secret Is Out!! One Of The Best Places To Meet Women.

Then i would list benefits and hyave it published in the local news paper.

Want to attract men?

Use Women as the bait!

You also need to put an author area for credits and give the company info and an incentive.

I saw a business franchise that specializes in haircuts for men and their attraction is beer, sports on large screen tvs, and of course pretty girls. It seems to be working as you'll probably be seeing these hair styling salons popping up more and more around the country. I don't know so much about the beer but the sports and pretty girls might just work.
