I require a Canadian visa to enter Canada. However, I have an American visa. Would I still need to apply for a Canadian visa, or will the American visa work?

On behalf of citizens of both Canada and the US I would like to clarify that each country is a sovereign nation with its own government and immigration policies. A visa to one country does not have any legal bearing on permission to seek entry into the other country. In other words, to enter both countries, you would need a visa for each country.

I take it you are not an Amercian citizen so you would need a passport the enter Canada. If you wanted to work here than you would need a Visa. Extended stays or entry as a student also require a visa.

(it somewhat is no longer aimed in the direction of the question asker, specially in the direction of the dunce solutions that save making up info) Get it by your heads individuals, you do no longer prefer a PASSPORT to go into CANADA. it is your individual united states of america which you will prefer a passport to come again into. All you prefer is evidence of citizenship and photograph identity to go into Canada once you're a U.S. citizen. 2 super examples of this could be your beginning certificates and your motive force's license. this is it! this is all you prefer! Even after January 2007 or 2008
