You walk up to him and say, "Are you shopping for just your self, or for you and your wife?"
If he says, "I'm not married" you say, "Oh, sorry...girlfriend? Um, significant other? Cat? Dog? Stop me soon...please?"
He will laugh and tell you everything.

It depends on what you sell, but say,
"So, did your girlfriend recommend that you buy this?"
If he says yes or says something about having a girlfriend, say "Well, she has good taste." or, "Was she here with you the last time you stopped in? I thought so..." Then change the subject back to what you're selling.
If he says he doesn't have a girlfriend, say. "Oh, that's too bad. You seem like a nice guy." Then smile at him. If he's interested in you, he'll probably pursue the subject. If he's not interested, he'll probably ignore the comment.
Also, don't take it personally if he doesn't like you. When you're at work you'll feel a little trapped and awkward, so if you get really embarassed, excuse yourself and go find a coworker to finish helping him.

Next time he comes in and you wait on him, if he buys a gift, ask him casually, "A gift for the wife?" He will probably respond with who the gift is for. Maybe a girlfriend, a friend or a co-worker. Then respond something like they are lucky to have a friend like you.

Well just get to talking and watch what he buys like if the stuff is for a girls like I said statr talking to him and maybe he or you will ask to hang out sometime thats what I do I works 90% of the time

The best way is the most direct. Just ask him. If that's a bit too much for you, then do as another answerer suggested, and suggest something for his wife or girlfriend.

Ask in a round about way about his girlfriend or wife. Like oh are those flowers for your wife? or Girlfriend? Or would you ever get these___ for your girl/wife? Be slick about it and when you get your answer try not to let on to him you were digging. He may think you're crazy...like don't go " YES!" in front of him. lol! Best wishes!

Take it one step at a time ask him if he is involved with someone. Second, tell him if he is not in a relationship, you are interested in him. Then go from there but take things SLOW, okay

{1}- look at you several times.
{2}- come in the store many times wether it's daily, or every day.
{3}-The guy would want you to help him/cash w/his stuff that he buys.

talk to him a little then if it goes good, ask him 4 some food or sumthing but if it doesnt, just drop it and u have to be more outgoing!
