Control of women and their sexuality is prevalent in lots of cultures where there is a patriarchy, and especially in cultures of honor, where men must do certain things to prevent being shamed. It's a messed up world.

I don't know who you mean specifically but men and women should cover up that which isn't meant to be seen accept by the person you are married to. I realize this isn't the way it is but Adam and Eve covered themselves after they had sinned that shows there that both should kep it all covered - a naked behind is not a pretty site.

As for the second part of your question it's not offensive, but something that God meant for us to cover since sin came into the world. I would find a male more offensive than a female - depending on how it's being used. Why? Have you seen what a male with no clothes on looks like? Some don't look so bad but others I run screaming like a banshee to get away from.

The church has been trying to suppress women for years and see women as a threat to their male ruling society. In other scrolls out side of the bible that was written earlier than the Bible during the time Christ was actually on earth specifically that the continuance of the Christ's church was to go through Mary Magdalene not Peter. So the early church always viewed woman as a threat. In 325 AD the Council of Nicaea had Mary declared a prostitute and the war between the sexes were on. Also in Pagan and Native American Culture the female form is worshiped or respected as the female form of God and people believed in pagan societies that you needed both man and woman to complete certain ritual acts that would bring you to closer to God. The Council of Nicaea had a problem with them and interpreted the Bible to subjugate women to keep them from sexually seducing men which was always the woman's fault not the man. In the old testament both were held accountable for having sex before marriage in contrast the Council held only women responsible. The Council also declared that it was woman's fault that sin came into the world and that the female was the weaker sex and easily deceived by the devil. They forced women to cover their hair and skin so that men would not be seduced by their beauty. This lead to the Witch Trials and the Holy Inquisition where some say millions of women were put to death on false accounts of hearsay, witchcraft and devil worship. That my friend is one good reason I am not a catholic nor give the Catholic any power. I see them as a false church for many reasons.

As I have so painfully learned- sex is a very compelling thing for a man. A woman's mind does not think the way a man's mind thinks and processes, God made them that way. Women are turned on by touch, men by sight. Female modesty is very important, the female body is not offensive it is very appealing and seductive, their (a man's) mind runs with just the littlest sight of some skin that should not have been shown.

Believe me- He left me for her, he couldn't get his thoughts under control. I wouldn't -couldn't- give him what his mind was craving.

It is fear of and wanting power/contorl over us (in)tending-to-tempt-men females. Eve, that b**tch, is considered the initiator of sin, the one who lured Adam into sin, and we all gotta pay for one idiot's wanting to be smart. Therefore, go figure the justice in this, all women by whatever kind of logic are sinful. That's why female mammals and humans hurt so badly when they birth big-headed young. Anyways, us wimmen gotta be covered so we can be controlled better. In many cultures where women are considered chattel, as they certainly were until modern day in Christianity and Judaism, womens' dress, as well as just about everything else, has been controlled by men. You know that, right? Joking aside, I think modesty, not shrouding, is appropriate for both genders.

Well, actually, men are far more modest in their dress than women, anyway. Men aren't walking around in short-shorts with "juicy" printed on the butt, for instance. Also, I think the idea is that if women dressed more conservatively, men could be induced to treat women with more respect. While the first argument holds water, the second is ridiculous. Women in Muslim countries wear head-to-toe black, and they are shown little or no respect as human beings.

I guess its because we are women, and we actually have curves. I have always wondered the same thing. I don't quite think its fair that they get to wear pants... all the time!!!!! We have to wear dresses and skirts and pant suits. Well, I don't know why, but, I will for sure be watching the ? to see what answers arise!
Have a great evening and God bless!

It's just another method of control. These are the same people who say sex is dirty and evil and should only be used for procreation while they're on their way to local the establishment for a discrete toss. Hypocrites, all of them.

Don't you know that women are the reason for the unacceptable behavior males engage in. Really, Women are still thought of as being responsible for acts of sex forced on them by males. "If she hadn't have worn that revealing dress, I wouldn't have been so sexually incited." "She was just asking for it, and it was so obvious by the way she stuck her breasts out, and wiggled her butt". "she shouldn't have acted so seductively"., "if she didn't want to do it, why didn't she just leave".
Ladies, because of the portrayal of eve as the seductress of Adam, in the garden of Eden, males have always blamed women for their disgusting behavior. Poor things. It's always the woman's fault.

Its not offensive, its more attractive thats why they try to keep it wrapped up so there's not a rape every 30 seconds (like in the U.S.)
