They make a product that you can find around nail polish that will help you with this very thing. You paint it on your fingernails and when you put them in your mouth it tastes so bad you stop.

Though they keep saying Acrylics, you will ruin what nails you might have doing it that way. And I chewed on my nails more back when I had those, and that's one hell of an expensive way to stop. I made a friend stop by making him drop and give me ten push ups everytime I saw him doing it. If you've got a good slave driver try that. You'll get in shape or you'll stop biting. I learned that the guys like nice long nails, and I quit post haste. Now it's unnatural if my nails aren't at least a quarter of an inch long (and not fake.) The soap works, so does the nail polish, that way your nails will grow faster if you polish them. Keeping them coated stops some of the urge, but did you consider that you are biting your nails for some anxious reason?

I am a Beauty Therapist and Nail Technician so obviously I have great nails but I used to be a bad nail biter and picker. Now I use Bio Sculpture gel on my nails-- NOT acrylic it causes way too much damage to your natural nails and you want to strengthen them, not destroy them.
Once you have spent the money on getting your nails done you wont want to bite them as it would simply be a waste of your money.

The best deterant of nail biting is to remind you that everytime you put your fingers in your mouth you are consuming bits of dirt, old food, germs, faeces and urine-- and thats really gross. Hopefully that turns you off and does the trick :)

i used to bite my nails really bad. you could try rubbing lemon juice on ur nails, buying a nail biter solution at walmart (it is like a clear nail polish but tastes horrible worse then actually nail polish, it tastes so bad when you pick up food the food tastes like it, or you could try wearing gloves as much as possible. when i quit i sometimes stil bite my nails so when i do i put fake nails on or i go get a manicure. i get an expensive manicure so then i wont want to ruin the manicure so i dont waste my money or you could email me for more solutions. irish_10213@yahoo.com

theres a couple things! there is this bitter apple spray (its for dogs to stop chewing on stuff but its safe) that you can spray on your hands that whenever you bite your nails itll leave a nasty taste in your mouth so youll stop biting them! or you can do the same wiht nail polish remover by puttin some on a couple times a day youll have a funky taste so you wont want to bite them!

you could wear gloves while you're asleep and hanging around the house so that you can't bite your nails. Also, you could try getting acrylic nails or some kind of fake nails so that you really can't bite them. i was a nail biter, too, but i just kind of grew out of it.

ok, well, i would try using like wet wipes on my hands [use lotion after, wet wipes dry out hands] then you probably wouldn't like the taste of soapiness. or you could try lemon juice, nail polish remover, try asking your parents to start something like if you dont bite for a month you'll get 10$, you could try having to pay like some money when you bite, or try puting fake nails on. then you can take them off when they're grown in.

I used a product called Bite Free available at the drugstore over the counter. It is clear and you apply like polish, it just has a taste that reminds you to take your finger out of your mouth.

Apply hand lotion throughout the day - you'll taste the lotion & be reminded to stop biting.

File your nails short & apply a hydrating oil. (e.g. vitamin E oil)
