A lot come from the Gulf Of Mexico. My Uncle used own two shrimp boats down around Aransas Pass, Texas. I've also bought fresh shrimp right off the shrimp boat in a little fishing town in California. Can't remember the name.

Farm raised shrimp can come from some unusual places. There are shrimp farms in the American Midwest, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana and also Kentucky. Where ever someone is willing to go into the business.

Shrimp are found abundantly in America, off the Atlantic and Pacific seaboards in inshore waters, wherever the bottom is sandy.

Shrimp are in season from May to October and 95% of the shrimp caught come from the warm waters of the South Atlantic and Gulf states.

Depends on where you buy them from. Shrimp are in the Ocean. The big big ocean.

I'm sure they are farmed in some areas as well, just like salmon are.

If you're looking for a particular shrimp your best bet would be to call your local fish market.

The people against drilling in Alaska and the Gulf of Mexico are America-hating leftists who want to enjoy all the benefits of our society while crippling us at the same time. I say drill everywhere we can find oil, including my back yard if I'm lucky enough to have oil here.
