My friend and his friend decided to give themselves "tattoos"
They poked themselves with a sharp point until they bled.
Then, they wrote over it with ink. (a blue ballpoint pen)

Now one of them has red spots on his arms and a headache.
Is he poisoned? What's going on? I'm worried...

That wasn't a very smart thing to do. I don't know about poisoning, but it's a sure way to give themselves a bad infection. Tell your friends to see a doctor and get treatment immediately. And for heaven's sake, tell them not to do anything so dumb again. Those friends will most likely bear permanent scars from this do-it-yourself tattooing. Sometimes I wonder what happened to common sense . It was certainly lacking between those two friends of yours. Tattoos should only be performed by trained professionals in the field.

He could be reacting to the ink, but like as not he's got an infection brewing up in the damaged skin. He needs to go to the doctor, and fess up to what he did. If he knows the brand of pen he used, that's helpful in determining what chemicals he may have been exposed to as well. Yeah, he's going to feel stupid, and have to endure the lecture, but he's not the first to do this and probably won't be the last. He'll survive.

Being emo = being stupid. It definately is NOT ink poisoning, it takes a huge amount of ink to cause harm to you (about an ounce). As for the reaction to ink, well, I hope he learns his lesson.
