Try taking Jeff Gordon back in time, to when Rusty Wallace was in his prime.
I'd say that they're equal, if you could do that.
.
Rusty's retired now.
Jeff Gordon has quite a few years left in him.
Big difference in trying to rate them now.
It's only be a matter of opinion.
So, as far as it goes now.
Jeff Gordon is better, that's because he's driving.
Rusty's not even in the running, because he's retired.

Yes. The first thing that comes to mind is stats. I mean Jeff Gordon is Jeff Gordon and Rusty is just Rusty and nothing is spectacular about him. I think stats prove alot but then their is equipment but I think Jeff is better by far and I think that Jeff is just am amazing driver with amazing ability and talent.

I think Rusty Wallace is a little "rusty" with his racing these days. Hahaha. So, yeah Jeff Gordon is better.

Jeff Gordon and Rusty who? You can't even compare the two. Jeff Gordon is a great driver who has won many races and many more to come. Rusty is a good driver but will never be the racer Jeff Gordon is.

My father in law, a big Jeff Gordon fan, says without hesitation that Jeff Gordon is better than Rusty.

Thi sis a no brainer. Hell yeah Gordon is better than Wallace. But keep in mind that Gordon is one of the best drivers in the history of the sport so to be in the same conversation with him is pretty damn good.

He made a extensive deal out of no longer something. I didnt hear him say kyle busch ought to come again in his wrecked vehicle and takle out jr at kansas after jr wrecked him. Rusy has in no way enjoyed Jeff Gordon, its no secret they didnt have the dating that Jeff and Dale had. Rusty couldnt settle for that he replaced into being outclassed by some "upstart" youthful newborn. Gordon continuously had rusty's quantity, he replaced right into a extra valuable motive force and a extra valuable champion and rusty is jealous of his fulfillment. Rusty ought to close the hell up and stay independent in the process the races extremely of telling us his opinion that the visitors dont prefer to hearken to too. power for 5 infant.

Rusty is a great Driver and I love him to death. He has a cahmpionships, over 30 wins; tons of top tens and top fives. He will probably end up in the NASCAR hall of fame and maybe even the motorsports hall of fame.

Rusty was great; but Jeff is a legend. 4 championships, 77 wins and climbing, tons of top tens and top tives; broken alot of records and is already in the motorsports hall of fame (inducted in 02 I believe. I know someone will correct me if I am wrong on the year which I probably am.)

Jeff is the ranks of the most elite Drivers this world has ever seen. He has defined his era in racing; which only Petty, Earnhardt Sr. , and Schumacher have done (Schumacher is in F1 for those who don't know).

Jeff Gordon is more then a NASCAR Legend; he is a Racing Legend.

Someone is worse than Gordon? That is a depressing thought not for Gordon, but for the guy that is worse than him because that will mean that the other guy is pretty bad if he is being compared to Gordon.

Sure, his stats are proof of the answer to your question. While Rusty was still racing and maybe 20 wins ahead of Gordon, it was so obvious that Gordon would catch him. Rusty said several years before he retired, I want to get to 50 wins before Gordon does. Didn't happen.
