I mean, all the good people, even if they are a different religion
Because, since God is so good, shouldn't he let all good people go to Heaven, even if they believe something else...?

You are absolutely right that "God is so good" .I wish I could tell you yes , but it would be a lie. The truth is hell will be full of good people. Strictly speaking by Biblical standards there are no good people. (Psalms 14:3 .... There is none that doeth good, no, not one. and Mark 10:18 And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God.) But for the purposes of this answer since I know what you mean, we will consider that there are good people. But being good is not good enough!

There is only one way to heaven. Through Jesus Christ. You must be born again.(John 3:7 ) God wants everyone in heaven. (2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.) But the decision to be born again is your decision. To be born again You must acknowledge the fact that you are not good, that you are a sinner .We all are sinners...(Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;) By admitting that you are a sinner you also acknoledge that you need a saviour. Jesus!!! You must believe in and confess Jesus as your saviour,(Romans 10:9 .... if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.)
No matter what you have done, come to him and he will forgive you (Matthew 12:31 Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men & John 6:37 ....him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.)

Notice above it says SHALL be saved, not might, not maybe, not sometimes, not on occasion, but SHALL. This is a promise of Almighty God . God can not lie or break his promise. (Romans 11:29 For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance. & Hebrews 6:18 That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us:) So if you come to God by believing in and trusting the Lord Jesus. you shall go to heaven!!! God bless you and I hope you do indeed come to Christ. Oh! come to Christ Cap'nArlo

Even though I pertain to be an agnostic, I most definitely believe all good people go to Heaven, God forgives all sinners, and when I die, I will find out if there is a God and if this is true, so you must leave all avenues open because we are only mortal and have not really the power to decide what is and what is not correct in the teachings of religion, and we will ALL find the answers and the truth when we pass. But I firmly believe, that if there is a God, there is only one God, and not a different one for every religion or belief, it is just that people take things out of context or literally, hence different religious sections come about.

No I do not believe that a person can get to heaven just because he or she was a "good" person! The bible says that the ONLY way to heaven is through Jesus Christ! If you want to get to the Father you must except the Son! God is good and he is merciful however when it comes down to it He is judge and jury and unless you have the Son, Jesus Christ, on your side God will follow the laws! His commandments! And unless you have had Jesus wipe away your sins you will not pass whe God asks you did you keep My commandments?
Think about it....Have you ever lied? Have you ever stole, even as a child, even something small like gum? Have you ever looked at the opposite sex with lust? Did you know that God says that if you look at the opposite sex with lust in your heart you are committing adultery. How about this, have you ever seen something someone else owned and wanted it? See that's just 4 of His 10 commandments, we may not be murderers but God doesn't see sin in stages or levels He sees sin. End of story. So you have to have Jesus, who died for your sins, be there to say "I have already taken this persons punishment for her/his sins!" That is the ONLY way into heaven! Because God is such a good God he sent us His son! A way to get to heaven because NONE of us are good enough. We are not perfect! Jesus is!
I hope this answered your question!

All have sinned and come short of the glory of God. We were all born into sin. Here is a little something else. All the people who think they are Christian won't be there either. Because there is a specific plan set forth by God for salvation. Its in the book of Acts. And no where else. Like in the Old Testament in Egypt. God gave specific instrutions for the lamb, the brush. and where to put the blood. Even the Jews who did not do exactly as God instructed. Lost their 1st born that night. God is good, that he gave us instructions of how to cure our sin problem. Its in the book, and you have to seek it. Not listen to whose behind the pulpit. When the HOLY GHOST has come upon you. He will lead you into all truth and rightouesness. ( Also you'll speak in tongues as the Spirit of GOD gives the utterance. Just like every other Christian in the Bible. This doesn't mean you can't still lose your salvation. But you have a chance. Everyone that this hasn't happened to. Won't be there for sure.)

If we are God's creations, and God has inculcated us with a certain intelligence, and that intelligence can not make sense of good people NOT going to heaven, why would we believe anything other than that?

Unless...

Unless, the God we want to exist -- a fair and just Supreme Being -- is in reality as wacky as some religions depict Him.

This is a very good thought provoking question. I will give you my thoughts. I am certainly no theologian.

I am a Christian because I want a relationship with Jesus Christ. I have a sure and certain hope that I will go to heaven.

To get to heaven, one must cooperate with the saving actions of Jesus. (We were all created good, but we have all fallen.)

I don't know of another way to heaven other than Jesus, however, Jesus may touch people in ways I don't know about.

I would never say that a person who died went to heaven or hell, because I JUST DONT KNOW how God was acting in their heart.

It is not my job to judge them.

I thought the resurrection was on earth. Anyway that's in the future. In the future maybe those people will see the truth. More information is getting out daily and on satelllite. By then I would think many more will "have to know that I am God." How can anyone doubt then?

IF there were a God and He is all loving and compassionate, then I would have a tendency to believe that all good people would go to heaven regardless of what religion they belonged to during their lifetime. All that should matter is how you live your life and how you treat others.

I use to until I studied the Bible. Now I know that the answer is No. In the Bible, Jesus says in John 3:3 that unless a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
This is called repentance through Jesus Christ. Unless a person is saved he won't go to Heaven. We are all offered this gift of everlasting life. It is our choice if we accept it or not. Here is some more information about salvation through Jesus Christ.

Jesus said no one is good except God Himself.

Although comparing one person to another, we might think that "Hey, that guy is really good" or "Boy, that guy is really bad". But God doesn't see things that way. Who can be good enough to go to heaven? No one. Heaven is a place of God's Presence which is essentially HOLY.. All of our goodness withers in the presence of God's almighty holiness.

Being good does not get you or anyone else to heaven. The only way to heaven is faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, the son of God, the risen Savior, the only one who lived a sinless spotless life.

god bless
