Yes everything will be deleted.it would be best if you save every thing u have on cd's.

You will only loose everything if you choose to do a clean install of windows vista. I reccomend you back up all your files and then do the clean install because there will be no compatibility issues then.

Okay, now if you install it properly you should have all of your files there. It is hard to install Vista if you are not advanced with computers i reccomend that you get some one else to do it like Geek Squad or something.

your best bet is to backup all of your files to an external hard-drive (just do a back up of all you important files, ie: pics, music, documents, etc.)
then run a CLEAN install (erases everything) of vista and then put the files back on

do some very serious research into Vista before you install it, there are lots of problems with it... it is not always compatible with the computer hardware, and other software.. and if you start to have problems there is no one to help you out....
so think twice before you install it

vista will save all programs and docs in a folder called old, however vista states there are no guarantee...
