I have never started in this world of weight training with proper weights and blah blah blah. Well, let me start off witht he details. I am (I think) 5'10", 150 lbs. or so, and completley unexperienced in this field. I was interested in trying to change my body for the better this summer since I have nothing to do. But I still have some stuff, and, therefore, do not want to spend all my day just working out. I am completley confused on what to use what to do etc. Please help!

Sorry, my age is 14, going to start high school in the fall.

Also, I don't want to deal with a bunch of equipment, maybe something small like dumbbells or something similar. I also want to eat a good diet, but don't want crazy protein shakes and stuff like that! I don't mind natural healthy drinks though.

I also have access to pool, if that helps at all. I love to swim in it.

I also don't want to work outside my home. Sorry if this is making it very hard, but this is what I have to work with. (The pool is at my home, by the way)

First of all: the only people that workout all day are body builders, and that is because they live @ the gym. They eat during breaks to keep the energy up.

Second: You only need to lift for about 1-2 hours every other day. Unless you make sure to workout different muscles on alternating days

Third: You need to assess what you want to happen growth-wise.

Most people always want to make their chests and arms big, but you cannot achieve this unless you work all the muscles of the chest/back and arms.

Start with the bench press 3 sets of 10 on a very mild weight
Then you want to do butterflys 3 sets of 10 with mild weight
then you want to do some kind of upright press

and so on and so on....

You can email me if you want me to go farther into detail

First thing you should understand is what are you aiming for, are looking to just add muscle, or are you looking to make this something that you are very committed to. First thing join a gym, second seek out a licensed personal trainer. You should start off with the arms first, this is the most common thing people aim for, just do your biceps and triceps one day, day two do your back and abs, day three do your chest and shoulders and last do your legs and cardio. Now if you join a gym you'll find a whole bunch of machines and weights that can help you, I believe to start with free weights will be ideal for you, than work your way to the bigger stuff. Lift weights that are light for you, but still have Resistance. if you are serious go about this smart, and cautious, trust youself and your trainer. Good luck and train hard!

1] do aerobic exercise at least three days a week [ six if trying to lose weight ]
2] eat a quality diet - no fried, fast, or junk food - even diet junk food
3] do 3 sets each of 10 reps - pushups, situps, obliques, and crunches, daily
4] get an instruction book from the store, or the library
5] lift the lightest weights available and do arm exercises - if you can do 3 sets of 10 reps easily, go to higher weight - you
should struggle just a little.
6] eventually, you will want to join a gym so you can use the machines.

Get some dumbbells and use it for your arms and shoulders. you can get the exercises from online fitness sites as well as magazines. Do push-ups and chin-ups. Swim and play sports. Have a healthy diet. Thats all that you need at 14.

It can be very confusing I know. If you have a gym membership, the best thing to do is ask a personal trainer. They will be able to help you with proper hand placement and technique to get the most of a workout. I did and it was very worth it.
