Junior is not going to Hendricks, he is going to Childress or Gibbs and Gibbs seems to be the forerunner. If he goes on his own one of them will back him with a "package" from one of those teams.Jeff Gordon and Dale Jr are the biggest money makers that NASCAR has. Even tough Jeff is booed when he wins, he is not hated by most NASCAR fans, he is NASCAR's ace in the whole as far as royalities go. Jeff is a driver people love to hate. Come on, he is a dam good driver and I am not a fan of Gordon.
OMG I apologize for being adamant that Jr. is not going to Hendrick. Heard it early this morning on the news. I was shocked as I am sure a few others will be. This ought to be interesting!

Jeff and Jimmie don't need Junior to make them more popular. They have won races, championships and Fans on their own merits. Just like the Yankees, Cowboys, and Lakers; those who have created a dynasty are hated by those who can't.
The California Tag Team of Jeff and Jimmy will go down as the most powerful 1-2 combo autoracing has ever seen and make Hendricks Motorsports the New York Yankees of the autoracing world. Yes they will always be hated be those whose Drivers can't win.

It will make them more popular beaus people will see that with Junior on a GOOD team, that he is really not as good a driver than he has been made out to be, and seeing that Gordon and Johnson are far superior drivers, will begin to pull for them instead of Junior. If this rumor is in fact true, it's a bad move on Hendricks part, as the number of team wins will now DECREASE because Junior is on the team instead of Busch, who is also a more superior driver than Junior.
A I have stated before, marketability does not equal talent.

yes Gordon and Johnson will still be hated cause they r better then Dale jr no matter what race team he drives for.

while gordon(johnson) fans and jr fans have never played well in the sandbox together just go to a race. the majority of fans in the stands pull for one or the other (NOT ME!) now, put them together and it will become the largest fan base for any team in nascar history. that adds up to ALOT of fan-generated sales of paraphenalia and tickets. think that the sponsors won't love that?!!
